Your Role
This role will focus on growing the cadastral surveying business in the Kitchener-Waterloo area.
The Account Manager will be responsible for quoting, Project Manager mentorship, and business development activities.
Key Roles and Responsibilities
Prepare quotations that provide the expertise needed to meet client needs.
Mentor and support the development of Project Managers.
Guide Project Managers in project execution.
Identify market opportunities and trends.
Seek out new business and achieve agreed-upon success ratios.
Manage projects where necessary.
Quote & Project Responsibilities
The Account Manager provides leadership and guidance to Project Managers in the following areas:
Managing Scope
Ensure projects have a clearly defined Scope of Work (SOW).
Break down the SOW into clear actions and ensure it is properly communicated to the Project Manager.
Clearly define project requirements during the quoting stage.
Managing Time/Schedule
Ensure projects are delivered on time.
Maintain close communication with Project Managers to ensure projects are completed according to the agreed timeline.
Managing Costs
Prepare or oversee the quoting process for assigned projects.
Ensure quotes accurately reflect project costs and potential additional costs.
Consider geographic opportunities and restrictions when determining pricing.
Managing Communication
Ensure all project stakeholders communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing.
Ensure Project Managers maintain excellent communication between the project team and clients.
Training
Train and mentor Project Managers and Quote Administrators.
Help enhance their knowledge of the products and services provided to clients.
Business Development Responsibilities
New Business
Develop relationships with existing and new clients.
Actively seek new business opportunities through qualified networks and industry expertise.
Attend conferences and industry events.
Market Trends
Monitor and analyze local and broader market trends.
Work with the Business Development Manager to identify and pursue opportunities.
Client Relationships
Maintain existing client relationships while building new ones.
Expand the organization's reach within defined regions and market segments.
Revenue Growth
Establish clear annual revenue growth KPIs with the Business Development Manager.
Review performance regularly and make strategic adjustments when required.
Networking & Partnerships
Attend industry conferences and events to build qualified networks and generate referral business.
Develop industry partnerships that may provide mutual benefits.
Perform other duties as required.

Performance-Based Compensation
The first year will be 100% fixed salary to allow you to build your pipeline and integrate with project teams.
Following the first year, the role will transition to a Base + Variable compensation structure. This model is designed to reflect performance and results across different levels of seniority.

Requirements
Knowledge of the general industries related to surveying, including building, planning, engineering, underground utilities, and related fields.
Humble, approachable, and comfortable providing guidance to Project Managers.
Knowledge of key markets within the organization's service area.
Established industry connections and strong networking experience.
Deep understanding of the Kitchener-Waterloo cadastral surveying market and its clientele.
Strong business development and relationship-building skills.
Ability to identify market opportunities and develop new business.
Pay: $130,000.00-$180,000.00 per year
