Responsibilities

- Respond to service calls for residential and occasional commercial electrical issues.
- Diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair electrical problems in homes and businesses.
- Identify electrical deficiencies and recommend practical solutions to clients.
- Perform electrical installations, repairs, replacements, and upgrades.
- Install and service electrical panels, breakers, switches, lighting, and other components.
- Troubleshoot circuits, wiring, lighting systems, and electrical devices.
- Conduct panel upgrades, renovations, and service enhancements as needed.
- Install interior and exterior lighting systems, including troubleshooting.
- Install safety devices such as GFCI/AFCI protection, smoke detectors, and carbon monoxide detectors.
- Complete electrical work for renovations, additions, and home improvements.
- Use diagnostic tools to test electrical systems and ensure compliance with safety standards.
- Read and interpret electrical drawings, plans, and manufacturer instructions.




- Adhere to the Canadian Electrical Code (CEC) and provincial regulations.
- Maintain a clean and organized workspace.
- Communicate clearly with clients, explaining issues and recommended solutions.
- Complete service documentation, work orders, and material records accurately.

Qualifications

- Journeyperson Electrician certificate.
- Strong background in residential electrical service and troubleshooting.
- Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.
- In-depth knowledge of the Canadian Electrical Code and electrical regulations.
- Excellent communication skills.
- Robust attention to detail and commitment to quality work.
- Proficiency in using electrical testing equipment and hand/power tools.
- Comfortable working in residential settings and occasionally in commercial environments.
- Able to stand, bend, kneel, climb, and work from ladders for extended periods.
- Able to lift and carry electrical materials, tools, and equipment.
