The primary responsibilities of the role will include:

- Safely operate assigned CNC cutting equipment, including plasma, oxy-fuel, and fiber laser cutting systems, in accordance with approved programs, work instructions, and manufacturer requirements.

- Rotate between cutting systems or operate a designated table as assigned based on workload, production priorities, constraints, training, and shift requirements.

- Review the released work package, nest, drawings, and cutting documentation required to confirm the correct job, material, program, part quantities, and identification before cutting.

- Verify incoming material type, grade, thickness, dimensions, condition, and identification against production documentation before loading or processing.

- Receive, stage, load, reposition, and unload plate, sheet, remnants, scrap, and completed parts using overhead cranes, forklifts, and approved material-handling methods.

- Monitor cutting operations, machine status, cut quality, assist-gas or process conditions, and consumable condition within operator training and approved operating limits.

- Pause the process and promptly report unsafe conditions, incorrect material or programs, machine alarms, abnormal equipment performance, quality concerns, or production constraints.

- Perform visual and dimensional inspection of cut components against approved drawings, specifications, tolerances, and inspection requirements.

- Confirm overall dimensions, material thickness, hole and feature locations, cut condition, squareness, parallelism, appearance, and workmanship as applicable to the released work.

- Ensure components are correctly counted, marked, identified, documented, sorted, and staged for downstream fabrication activities.

- Identify, measure, mark, segregate, and stage usable remnants and unused material for return to inventory in accordance with JNE procedures.





- Separate and dispose of scrap and cutting waste using established material-handling and environmental practices.

- Complete pre-use and daily operator inspections, cleaning, housekeeping, and routine operator care defined in approved checklists and training.

- Coordinate with Maintenance for first-level laser maintenance, consumable replacement, equipment repairs, and technical troubleshooting beyond the Operator's authorized scope.

- Communicate with CNC Programming, Material Handling, Production, Quality, and Maintenance personnel regarding priorities, material issues, re-cuts, equipment status, and completed work.

- Maintain a clean, orderly, and safe work area around both cutting systems, material staging areas, controls, access points, and finished-part locations.

- Support continuous improvement activities related to safety, cutting quality, productivity, equipment availability, material flow, traceability, and waste reduction.

- Work in accordance with occupational health and safety regulations, JNE safe work procedures, ISO procedures, and JNE Values and Code of Conduct.

- Perform other related duties as assigned.

Experience

Required

- 3 year(s): Experience in a manufacturing, fabrication, or industrial production environment.
- 2 year(s): Practical experience operating CNC production equipment, profile-cutting equipment, or comparable industrial machinery.

Preferred
- 2 year(s): Ability to read and interpret fabrication drawings, cut lists, work orders, nest documentation, material specifications, and dimensional tolerances at the level required for machine operation and part verification.
- 2 year(s): Working knowledge of carbon steel, stainless steel, and aluminum identification, grades, thicknesses, surface condition, handling, and traceability practices is considered an asset.
- 2 year(s): Ability to safely operate overhead cranes and forklifts and to select appropriate rigging and material-handling methods within training and certification limits.
- 2 year(s): Mechanical aptitude sufficient to complete operator inspections, recognize abnormal machine conditions, and clearly communicate maintenance requirements.
- 2 year(s): Basic computer skills and the ability to learn machine controls, production systems, electronic work instructions, and data-entry requirements.
- 2 year(s): Ability to work independently or as part of a multi-table cutting team and to adapt assignments based on shift requirements and production constraints.
