We are currently looking for compassionate, dependable, and dedicated Child & Youth Care Workers to join our group home team in Carp.

The Opportunity

As a Child & Youth Care Worker, you will play an important role in supporting youth as they navigate everyday challenges, develop life skills, build positive relationships, and work toward their individual goals.

Key Responsibilities

- Provide direct care, support, guidance, and supervision to youth in a group home setting.
- Build positive, trusting, and respectful relationships with the youth we support.
- Develop and implement individualized support strategies based on each young person's needs, strengths, and goals.
- Maintain a secure, welcoming, inclusive, and structured environment.
- Support youth with daily living skills, routines,



social development, and community involvement.
- Facilitate activities that encourage personal growth, independence, confidence, and positive social skills.
- Work collaboratively with families, schools, community agencies, and other members of the youth's support team.
- Monitor and document progress, behaviours, incidents, and significant events as required.
- Adapt approaches and strategies to meet the changing needs of each young person.
- Advocate for the rights, well-being, and individual needs of youth.
- Respond calmly and professionally to challenging situations and behaviours.
- Participate in team meetings, training, and ongoing professional development.
- Follow organizational policies, procedures, safety standards, and individualized care plans.

Qualifications & Skills

- Post-secondary education in Child and Youth Care, Social Work, Psychology, Behavioural Sciences, or a related field is required.
- Previous experience working with youth with disabilities, developmental needs, behavioural challenges, and/or mental health challenges is required.
- First Aid/CPR-C certification is required.
- A valid driver's licence and reliable personal vehicle are required.
- Strong interpersonal and relationship-building skills.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.




- Ability to remain calm, patient, and professional in challenging situations.
- Strong teamwork and collaboration skills.
- Ability to establish appropriate boundaries while building meaningful relationships with youth.
- A compassionate, inclusive, and youth-centred approach.
- Teaching, mentoring, coaching, or related experience is considered an asset.

Scheduling Requirements

Part-Time Positions

Part-time staff are required to have evening availability and must be available to work every other weekend, including Friday (evening), Saturday and Sunday

Full-Time Positions

Full-time staff follow a 2 days on / 2 days off rotation and are required to work every other weekend.

Schedules are designed to provide consistency and stability for the youth in our care.
