Position: Home Watch & Property Care Professional

Acuity Advantage is seeking a trustworthy, dependable professional with strong practical knowledge of homes and hands-on maintenance experience to provide Home Watch and Property Care services to our established client base across Calgary and surrounding communities.

This position combines professional Home Watch with hands-on Property Care. In addition to caring for clients' homes while they are away, you will address appropriate maintenance needs identified during Home Watch visits, complete client-requested home maintenance and repair lists, and help keep seasonal and preventative property maintenance on track throughout the year.

No two days will necessarily look the same. Your schedule will be shaped by the needs of our clients and their properties. One day may involve scheduled Home Watch visits in several areas of the city, another may involve spending several hours at one residence working through a maintenance list, and another may include following up on an issue, completing property care or coordinating access for a qualified service provider.

This opportunity may be particularly well suited to a retired or semi-retired professional who wants to stay active, put years of experience and practical skills to good use, and enjoy versatile, varied work without the commitment of a traditional full-time position.

We are looking for someone who understands homes, notices when something isn't right, and has the hands-on ability and judgment to determine what should happen next. Just as importantly, you understand that every home and every client is different and that thoughtful, personalized service is as important as completing the task itself.

Because our clients rely on us seven days a week, this role requires availability across a seven-day work week, including weekends, as well as the flexibility to respond to emergency or urgent property call-outs when needed.

Our Property Care services extend beyond individual maintenance requests. We aim to help clients stay ahead of the ongoing needs of their homes, from addressing items identified during Home Watch visits and working through maintenance and repair lists to helping manage annual property maintenance plans and coordinating qualified service providers when specialized expertise is required.

discretion, consistency, sound judgment and attention to detail.

About the Role

The work is varied and requires someone who is equally comfortable observing and identifying concerns, completing practical maintenance and repair work, and recognizing when specialized expertise is required.

Our clients expect a highly personalized level of service. Over time, you will become familiar with individual homes and their ongoing needs and will be expected to approach each property with care, discretion, consistency and sound judgment.

Key Responsibilities

Home Watch Services

- Conduct scheduled Home Watch visits and thorough visual checks of clients' homes and properties
- Look for signs of damage, water intrusion, leaks, pests, security concerns and other changes requiring attention
- Observe key household systems and components for apparent issues or changes in condition
- Identify and document maintenance concerns requiring attention or follow-up
- Respond to urgent property situations such as alarm activations, water concerns or power outages
- Provide detailed reports and photos following each visit using our reporting software
- Coordinate with qualified trades or service providers when additional expertise is required
- Follow established Home Watch, security and emergency response procedures
- Complete Certified Home Watch Professional training

Home Maintenance Professional

- Complete a variety of client-requested home maintenance, repair and handyman projects
- Work through individual requests or larger household maintenance lists
- Address appropriate maintenance items identified during Home Watch visits
- Assist with seasonal, preventative and ongoing property maintenance
- Help keep client maintenance needs and property care requirements on track
- Troubleshoot household concerns and determine appropriate next steps
- Coordinate with qualified trades or specialized service providers when required
- Complete all work with a high standard of workmanship and respect for the client's home

We don't expect you to do everything. We do expect you to know what you can confidently take care of yourself, what requires further attention and when specialized expertise is required.

Qualifications

- Proven trustworthiness, reliability and sound judgment
- Strong attention to detail and a proactive approach to caring for homes
- Well-rounded home maintenance, handyman or other relevant hands-on experience
- Strong practical knowledge of homes and the ability to recognize when something requires attention
- Comfortable troubleshooting everyday household issues and determining appropriate next steps
- Confident using common hand and power tools
- High standard of workmanship and care when working in clients' homes
- Calm and dependable in unexpected or emergency situations
- Professional,



courteous communication and respect for client privacy and confidentiality
- Comfortable working independently and managing a changing daily schedule
- Comfortable using a smartphone or tablet for reporting, photographs and communication
- Valid driver's licence and access to a reliable vehicle
- Able and willing to work outdoors and travel between client properties in varying weather conditions throughout the year
- Availability across a seven-day work week, including weekends, with flexibility to respond to emergency or urgent property call-outs when needed
- Strong professional references

Additional Assets

- Background in residential maintenance, skilled trades or residential construction
- Property, estate or facilities management experience
- Home inspection or other relevant property experience
- Experience caring for high-end residential properties
- A well-rounded selection of quality hand and power tools suitable for general home maintenance and handyman work
- Relevant trade certifications or technical training

What matters most is broad residential knowledge, strong hands-on ability, sound judgment and knowing when a task is best handled by a specialized qualified.
