About Us
Ayīk Sākahikan Awāsisak Māmawinitowin Society (ASAM) is dedicated to protecting First Nations children, supporting families, and strengthening our community through culturally centered child welfare practices. We are seeking a highly organized, deeply respectful, and trustworthy skilled to join our team as the Executive Assistant to the Director.
The Opportunity
Operating at the heart of our leadership team, you will serve as the strategic and primary liaison for the Executive Director. This position demands absolute discretion, an exceptional command of senior administrative functions, and a deep commitment to preserving First Nations culture, governance, and community relationships.
Key Responsibilities
· Executive Support: Manage a complex executive calendar, coordinate meetings, and arrange travel.
· Confidentiality & Data Sovereignty: Maintain absolute security over highly sensitive child welfare, legal, and personnel files in strict compliance.
· Operational Flow: Triage incoming correspondence, prepare briefing materials, and coordinate day to day executive office administrative and financial workflows.
· Executive Liaison: Serves as a professional, welcoming, and empathetic primary point of contact for anyone wishing to connect with the executive Director.
You will manage, prioritize, and triage inquires ensuring factual and timely distribution of information.
Qualifications & Requirements
· Education: Diploma or degree in Office Administration, Business Administration, or a closely related field.
· Executive Support: A minimum of five (5) years of senior administrative experience, including at least two (2) years of progressive responsibility directly supporting an Executive Director or C-Suite Leader.
· Sector Familiarity: Proven experience operating within an Indigenous organizational framework, non-profit, or public sector environment in highly preferred.
· Core Competencies: Exceptional organizational skills, high emotional intelligence, fluency in standard office software (MS Office Suite), and a deep understanding of Indigenous historical and cultural contexts.

Pay: $45,179.57-$86,075.48 per year
