Are you looking to build a career as a licensed Automotive Service Technician?

LAD’S Auto Repair Ltd. is looking for a motivated Automotive Service Technician Apprentice who wants to learn, develop their skills, and become an important part of a professional automotive repair team.

We have been serving Calgary motorists for more than 40 years and operate as a NAPA AUTOPRO, NEXdrive EV Repair Centre, and TIRECRAFT location. Our shop services a wide variety of domestic and import cars and light trucks, from older vehicles to today's advanced gasoline, hybrid, and electric vehicles.

At LAD’S Auto, you won't spend your apprenticeship doing the same basic jobs every day. You'll work alongside experienced licensed technicians and gain hands-on experience in maintenance, diagnostics, electrical systems, brakes, steering and suspension, engine performance, and vehicle repair.

We believe an apprenticeship should actually prepare you to become a great technician.

What You'll Be Doing

As your knowledge and experience grow, your responsibilities will grow with you. Duties may include:

- Performing oil and filter services and scheduled maintenance
- Tire installation, balancing, rotations, and repairs
- Brake inspections and repairs
- Steering and suspension inspection and repair
- Battery, starting, and charging system testing
- Assisting with electrical and drivability diagnostics
- Using scan tools and up-to-date diagnostic equipment
- Completing comprehensive digital vehicle inspections
- Assisting senior technicians with more complex diagnostic and repair work




- Removing and installing vehicle components as required
- Reading wiring diagrams, service information, and repair procedures
- Accurately documenting inspection results, diagnostic findings, and completed repairs
- Maintaining a clean, organized, and safe work area
- Working with our technicians and service advisors to keep jobs moving efficiently through the shop

What We're Looking For

The right candidate will have:

- Enrollment or eligibility to enroll in Alberta's Automotive Service Technician apprenticeship program
- A genuine interest in automotive diagnosis, maintenance, and repair
- Valuable mechanical aptitude
- Basic experience using automotive hand and power tools
- A willingness to learn and accept coaching from experienced technicians
- Good communication and teamwork skills
- Strong attention to detail
- The ability to work efficiently in a busy repair environment
- A valid driver's licence
- A positive attitude and dependable work ethic

Previous automotive shop experience is an asset, but we're also interested in candidates who demonstrate the aptitude, attitude, and desire to learn.
