Job Summary

The Maintenance Person, under the direction of the Presient/Owner & Operation's Manager, will primarily be responsible to adhere to established safe working procedures and wear the proper safety equipment at all times. This position will ensure high standards of workmanship and efficiency. This role will also adhere to company policies and standards for cost control, waste reduction, quality, safety, and complete and on-time delivery. The Maintenance Person must possess three years of related experience and ability to operate required equipment in a safe and responsible manner.

Job Duties

- Adhere to established safe working procedures and wear the proper safety equipment at all times
- Ensure high standards of workmanship and efficiency
- Adhere to company policies and standards for cost control, waste reduction, quality, safety, and complete and on-time delivery
- Ensure compliance with licensing laws, health and safety, and other statutory requirements
- Inform supervisor of the need to order materials as required
- Perform daily maintenance and safety checks on all equipment and tools
- Maintain inspection records and complete inspection reports
- Bolt, screw, clip, weld, solder, or otherwise fasten parts and components together using hand and power tools and equipment
- Erect and disassemble scaffolding, shoring, braces, traffic barricades, ramps, and other temporary structures
- Cut, drill, sand, or plane materials for snug fit
- Lubricate, clean, maintain, and repair machinery, equipment, and tools




- Maintain a clean working area free from dirt and debris between tasks and at end of day
- Perform various forms of labour to assist in the successful completion of construction projects from start to finish
- Ensure high standards of workmanship and efficiency
- Detect equipment malfunctions or out-of-tolerance machining and adjust machine, controls, or control media within capabilities as required to ensure quality of production
- Ensure proper use of required personal protective equipment at all times
- Follow manufacturing and processing procedures, set machine or equipment controls, carry out production and inspection processes
- Perform daily maintenance and safety checks on all equipment and tools
- Resolve work problems and recommend measures to improve productivity, product quality, and safety
- Closely monitor machines for signs of problems while ensuring output is meeting set specifications
- Repairs and maintenance for 37 & 45 Evergreen Hill Road, Simcoe, ON equipement and buildings inside and out
- Painting as needed
- Cutting grass/weeding when required
- Keeping record of cooler temperatures
- Be available (on call) after hours in case of power outage/weather/equipment failure
- Checking smoke detectors when required
- Backup up driver when required
- Ensure all paperwork is completed as per OMAFA/HACCP
- Recycling/garbage disposal




- Dump runs as needed
- Maintaining off site storage units
- Clean and maintain market coolers
- Online training as requiired
- Other duties as necessary

Job Requirements

- Three years of related experience
- Ability to operate required equipment in a safe and responsible manner
- Ability to effectively communicate both verbally and in writing
- Ability to lift heavy objects, walk, and stand for long periods of time
- Ability to perform strenuous physical labour
- Ability to prioritize and manage conflicting demands
- Demonstrated ability to operate material-handling equipment
- Knowledge of appropriate materials, methods, and tools required in various assembly processes
- High school diploma, GED, or equivalent
- Degree or diploma in a related field
- Certifications or licences appropriate to industry
- Knowledge of appropriate materials, methods, and tools required in various construction processes
- Knowledge of construction equipment safety
- Ability to work individually as well as part of a team

Work Conditions

- Exposure to hazards associated with the industry/trade

- Extended periods of standing, and other physically demanding conditions
- Lifting, moving, or manipulating objects up to 25 kilograms
- Working in cold evironment (coolers, outside)

- Snow removal (before employees arrive)

Pay: $19.00-$25.00 per hour

Expected hours: 37.0 – 40.0 per week
