Position Overview:

We are looking for an experienced Water-Jet Machine Operator. You must possess knowledge and experience in working with Flow Waterjet Machinery and the ideal candidate must be able to work as a team member with other CNC Programmers/Machinists when completing large bulk orders or time-sensitive projects. You must have excellent verbal and written English skills when communicating with team members and customers. In addition, your other responsibilities are:

- Basic blueprint reading capabilities and some knowledge of precision measuring instruments (ie: verniers, micrometers, calipers, indicators, etc.)
- Monitor quality by taking measurements, detecting malfunctions, troubleshooting machine processes, adjusting and reprogramming controls while adhering to quality assurance procedures and processes;
- Review and interpret tooling instructions such as fixtures, feed rates, cutting speeds, depth of cut and determine the sequence of operations;
- Set-up flow water jet machinery, including, loading programs, changing table slats, aligning program with the position of billet;
- Daily maintenance; including, replacing orifices, mixing tubes, using wrenches, and other hand tools;




- Loading and unloading billets using overhead cranes, forklifts, and other lifting devices;
- Conduct work inspection checks utilizing micrometers, tape measures, gauges and complete required documentation;
- Unpacking received product and packing product for safe delivery to customers or to processing;
- Preparing shipping documentation as required;
- Be responsible for achieving the desired quality level of the manufacturing of custom precision parts and assist other shop staff to achieve the highest degree of labour efficiency.

Position Requirements:

- Completion of a two – three year college program, BCIT foundation training or equivalent in industrial engineering technology, manufacturing technology or in a related discipline;
- Minimum of 1– 2 years of experience as a Waterjet Machine Technician, CNC Operator or equivalent
- Minimum of 1 – 2 years of experience interpreting and analyzing CAD, AUTOCAD and CAM drawings
- Minimum of 1 – 2 years of experience of working with different types of manufacturing raw materials (ie: metal, steel, aluminum, copper, marble, limestone, etc.)
- Knowledge of CNC Machining and Programming are an asset;
- Fluency in verbal and written English;
- Ability to perform tasks/assignments with minimal supervision;
- Must be able to lift 50 lbs or more;
- Be fit and in valuable health.

Salary, hours of work and location:

$23 - $25 per hour (depending on experience), 5 days per week, Delta, BC area. After successful completion of the 3-month probationary period, you will be entitled to standard medical & dental benefits.
