Chrysalis Society is a trauma‑responsive organization supporting women through early recovery from drug and alcohol addiction. We operate a full continuum of care, including 1st‑stage and 2nd‑stage homes and housing subsidies, with no time limits on programs so women can heal at their own pace.

JOB SUMMARY 24 hours per week (April 1, 27 -> 32 hrs per wk + benefits)

The Cultural Program Manager plays a central role in creating and maintaining a safe, welcoming, and culturally grounded home for Indigenous women participating in the six bed New Day program.

As the primary on-site staff member, they support residents on their healing, wellness, and recovery journeys through culture, connection, advocacy, and compassionate guidance. Working from a trauma-informed, strength-based, and culturally safe approach, the Manager coordinates Indigenous cultural programming, supports resident wellness, and helps foster a sense of belonging, responsibility, and community within the home.

The Manager works with the Elder, community partners, service providers, and Chrysalis leadership team to ensure women have access to meaningful cultural experiences, community resources, and individualized supports. This position serves as the primary point of contact for the day-to-day functioning of the residence and is entrusted with responding to resident needs, supporting healthy community living, and addressing challenges as they arise.

They exercise sound judgment while balancing the well-being of individual residents with the safety and integrity of the home as a whole. The Manager actively maintains a personal wellness practice and leads by example, modelling respect, healthy boundaries, cultural humility, and the values that guide our continuum of care.

QUALIFICATIONS:





- Lived/living experience with recovery and wellness, including a minimum of 3 years of recovery
- Substance Misuse Certificate or equivalent; relevant experience in the field
- Basic counselling, peer support, or frontline support experience
- Demonstrated knowledge of Indigenous cultures, healing practices, ceremonies, teachings, and cultural protocols.
- ALR Training Certificate - Implementing BC’s Supportive Recovery Standards
- Foundational Skills for the Substance Use, Treatment, and Recovery Workforce Certificate
- Familiarity with nonviolent communication, trauma informed care, and anti oppression frameworks
- Ability to maintain accurate documentation using Windows, Outlook, Word, and Teams
- Emergency First Aid – Community Care
- Naloxone Training
- Food Safe
- Class 5 Driver’s License
- Criminal Records Check for Vulnerable Adults
