A large, privately held restaurant organization with an extensive and growing network of locations across Canada and the United States is seeking an accomplished Chief Financial Officer to join its executive leadership team.

The CFO will provide enterprise-wide financial leadership and oversee financial strategy, reporting, planning, internal controls, treasury, taxation, risk management and operational decision support. The successful candidate will be a strategic and commercially minded leader who can strengthen financial discipline while supporting continued and sustainable growth.

Key Responsibilities

- Partner with the CEO and executive leadership team to establish financial priorities and support strategic decision-making.
- Lead annual budgeting, forecasting and long-term financial planning across multiple entities and operating divisions.
- Oversee accounting operations, financial reporting, payroll accounting, inventory, intercompany transactions and financial close.
- Ensure the timely and accurate preparation of monthly, quarterly and annual financial statements.
- Establish strong internal controls, approval authorities, reconciliations and financial governance practices.
- Direct cash-flow forecasting, liquidity management, banking relationships, financing and working-capital optimization.
- Oversee tax, audit and regulatory compliance across applicable Canadian and U.S. jurisdictions.
- Analyze revenue, margins, labour, operating costs, overhead and profitability.
- Provide financial oversight and performance analysis for a large network of locations and business operations.
- Strengthen financial systems, reporting tools, data integrity and process automation.
- Lead, develop and hold accountable the Finance team.
- Support growth initiatives, capital investments, financing arrangements and strategic transactions.

Qualifications

- CPA designation in positive standing.
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, business administration or a related discipline; a master’s degree is an asset.




- At least 3 years of experience in the Food & Beverage industry.
- At least 10 years of progressive finance and accounting experience, including significant senior leadership responsibility.
- Strong experience in financial planning and analysis, controllership, treasury, taxation, audit, internal controls and executive reporting.
- Experience within a multi-entity and multi-location organization.
- Experience in a high-growth, consumer-facing or operationally complex environment is strongly preferred.
- Canadian and U.S. cross-border financial, tax or reporting experience is an asset.
- Advanced financial modelling, forecasting and Microsoft Excel capabilities.
- Strong proficiency with ERP, accounting and business-intelligence systems.
- Experience leading finance-system implementation or optimization is preferred.
