Nature and Scope:

Reporting the to the Centre Manager – Health, Fitness and Aquatics, this position provides direct delivery of high-quality programs designed to assist families and patrons with the achievement of their personal goals. The Youth Program Instructor will regularly connect and communicate with members to improve member retention. This position is responsible for the delivery of front-line programming including lesson planning, and the direct supervision of children in programs. They are also responsible for assisting with other duties as required at YMCA Northumberland.

Responsibilities:

- Responsible for the direct supervision of participants in programs

- Responsible for developing lessons plans

- Responsible for delivery of youth programs

- Develops relationships with members and obtain regular feedback on programs.

- Maintains standards outlined in Child Protection Policy

- Responsible for providing session participation statistics

- Responsible for facilitating session participant surveys

Work Environment:





- Based out of the Campbellford YMCA located at the Sunny Life Recreation and Wellness Centre YMCA Branch

- Primarily inside work; outside work is dependent on specific program requirements

Qualifications:

- Must be at least 15 years of age

- Experience working with children and leading children’s activities

- First Aid and CPR Certification

- Police Vulnerable Sector Check required (if over 18 years). Police Checks are reviewed on a case-by-case basis

Pay: $16.90-$17.95 per hour
