About the Role:

We are seeking a reliable Security Staff member to join our team at the busy Canadian Tire store in Cochrane, AB. This is a temporary position with the potential to turn into a permanent role. The position will start with part-time hours, with the potential to increase to full time hours during our peak season in November and December. The ideal candidate is calm under pressure, attentive, and committed to ensuring a safe shopping environment for both customers and staff.

Key Responsibilities & Core Values:

- Remain calm and professional in high-pressure situations
- Assist with store evacuation in cases of fire or emergencies
- Conduct regular store walks to prevent theft and ensure safety
- Communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing, with staff and law enforcement when needed
- Monitor customers and staff to ensure merchandise is properly accounted for




- Maintain a visible, approachable presence throughout the store

Requirements:

- Must be able to close (1:30 PM – 10:00 PM)
- Flexibility is needed to meet scheduling needs (including potential hours increase in Nov/Dec)
- Strong communication and observation skills
- Previous experience or training in loss prevention/security is an asset
- Ability to remain alert, professional, and calm in all situations
