IT Business Analyst, Finance

Position Summary

Reporting to the Director, Business Systems, Information Technology, the IT Business Analyst, Finance serves as the subject matter expert for financial processes, including General Ledger, Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, Fixed Assets, and Budgeting.

This role partners closely with Finance, Supply Chain Management, and IT stakeholders to support business operations, drive process improvements, resolve application-related issues, and optimize the use of D365 F&O; across the organization.

Key Responsibilities

- Provide guidance and recommendations on ERP capabilities and functionality to business users and IT leadership.
- Participate in the implementation and deployment of new D365 F&O; functionality, including configuration, testing, data migration, and user training.
- Support end users with financial system processes and troubleshoot application-related issues.
- Identify process improvement opportunities and recommend solutions to enhance efficiency and effectiveness.
- Develop and maintain process documentation and training materials.
- Assist in delivering training to super-users and end users.




- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather business requirements and implement solutions.
- Perform other duties as assigned.

QualificationsRequired

- 3-5 years of Business Analyst experience working with Microsoft Dynamics.
- 3-5 years of accounting or finance experience.
- Post-secondary education in Computer Science, Commerce, Finance, Business, or a related field.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Experience gathering business requirements, analyzing processes, and translating business needs into detailed functional requirements.
- Ability to identify root causes, recommend solutions, and drive process improvements.
- Experience creating functional and technical design specifications.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced setting.
- Proven ability to build effective working relationships across all levels of an organization.

Preferred

- Experience with Microsoft Dynamics 365 Finance & Operations (D365 F&O;).
- Previous experience in the Oil & Gas industry, particularly within the Energy Services sector.
