Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Maintenance Supervisor to lead and support the day-to-day maintenance operations of a fast-paced manufacturing facility. This role will oversee maintenance activities, provide technical guidance to maintenance personnel, coordinate preventive and corrective maintenance, and work closely with Production, Engineering, Quality, and external contractors to ensure reliable and safe operation of equipment and facilities.

The ideal candidate is a hands-on maintenance leader with strong mechanical and electrical knowledge, experience in a continuous or high-volume manufacturing environment, and the ability to prioritize maintenance activities while minimizing equipment downtime.

Key Responsibilities:

Maintenance Operations & Leadership

- Supervise and support maintenance personnel, including scheduling, work assignments, training, performance management, and technical development.

Preventive & Corrective Maintenance

- Develop, coordinate, and maintain preventive and predictive maintenance schedules for production equipment, packaging equipment, facility systems, and supporting machinery.
- Oversee inspections, repairs, adjustments, calibration, alignment, lubrication, and other maintenance activities.
- Troubleshoot complex equipment issues and coordinate corrective actions to improve equipment reliability and performance.
- Review maintenance history and equipment performance to identify recurring issues and recommend improvements.
- Ensure accurate completion of work orders, maintenance records, equipment documentation, and CMMS updates.

Equipment & Facility Maintenance

- Supervise installation, modification, troubleshooting, repair, and commissioning of production and facility equipment.
- Support maintenance activities involving mechanical systems, electrical systems, pneumatics, hydraulics, power transmission, welding, machining, HVAC, plumbing, and general facility systems.
- Coordinate external contractors and service providers for specialized maintenance, repairs, inspections, and facility work.
- Ensure equipment manuals, technical drawings, maintenance records, and other relevant documentation are properly maintained.

Inventory & Maintenance Planning

- Monitor maintenance parts, tools, consumables, and critical spare inventory to support operational requirements.




- Work with Procurement/Supply Chain to ensure timely availability of required parts and services.
- Identify critical spare requirements and support cost-effective inventory management.
- Assist with evaluating suppliers, contractors, and service providers based on quality, reliability, and operational requirements.

Safety, Compliance & Continuous Improvement

- Ensure maintenance activities comply with applicable health and safety requirements, company policies, and regulatory standards.
- Participate in safety inspections, investigations, risk assessments, and corrective actions related to maintenance activities.
- Support equipment reliability, process improvement, cost reduction, and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Identify opportunities to improve maintenance processes, equipment performance, reliability, and overall operational efficiency.
- Work collaboratively with Engineering, Production, Quality, and other departments on equipment improvements and site initiatives.

Reporting & Communication

- Prepare and maintain maintenance reports, work order records, preventive maintenance metrics, and other departmental documentation.
- Communicate equipment issues, maintenance priorities, downtime concerns, and corrective actions to relevant stakeholders.
- Participate in cross-functional meetings and provide maintenance-related recommendations and technical input.
- Maintain awareness of relevant maintenance technologies, equipment developments, and industry best practices.
- Ensure maintenance activities are completed safely, efficiently, and in accordance with established procedures and regulatory requirements.
- Provide hands-on technical guidance and troubleshooting support for mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, hydraulic, and other equipment-related issues.
- Coordinate daily maintenance activities with Production and other departments to minimize downtime and maintain operational continuity.




- Promote a culture of safety, accountability, continuous improvement, and preventative maintenance.

Qualifications:

- 5+ years of experience in industrial maintenance, equipment maintenance, or a related manufacturing environment.
- 2+ years of supervisory, lead hand, or team leadership experience.
- Relevant post-secondary education, technical diploma, or certification in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Industrial Maintenance, Millwright, or a related field is preferred.
- Millwright, Electrician, Welder, Heavy Equipment Technician, or other relevant trade certification is considered an asset.
- Strong knowledge of mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, hydraulic, and power transmission systems.
- Experience with preventive and predictive maintenance programs and maintenance planning.
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, blueprints, schematics, equipment manuals, and related technical documentation.
- Experience in a manufacturing, pharmaceutical, packaging, food, or other regulated production environment is an asset.

Skills:

- Strong technical knowledge of mechanical, electrical, and HVAC systems.
- Proficiency in maintenance management software (CMMS).
- Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
- Ability to troubleshoot and solve complex maintenance issues.
- Knowledge of safety protocols, codes, and regulations.
