Front Desk Supervisor - Evening

Lead the Front Desk in the Evening. Deliver Exceptional Service When It Matters Most.

Digby Pines Golf Resort & Spa is seeking an experienced Front Desk Supervisor - Evening to join our Guest Services leadership team.

This is not an entry-level front desk position.

We are looking for a hospitality professional who already understands the fast-paced setting of a hotel front desk and can confidently supervise our evening operation. The successful candidate will have extensive hotel front desk experience, previous supervisory experience, and the ability to ensure every evening runs smoothly while delivering exceptional guest service.

About the Role

The Front Desk Supervisor - Evening is responsible for overseeing evening Front Desk operations while providing hands-on leadership and support to the broader Guest Services team. They are the right hand of the Guest Services Manager during evening shifts.

You will be the leader who sets the pace for the evening, ensuring efficient guest arrivals, welcoming and assisting guests throughout their stay, supporting Front Desk Agents, coordinating with Housekeeping and other departments, and maintaining smooth operations through the evening shift.

What You'll Be Responsible For

Leadership

- Supervise the Front Desk team during the evening shift
- Coach, mentor, and support Front Desk Agents
- Ensure professional service standards are consistently maintained
- Assist with training new employees and developing existing team members
- Act as the first point of contact for operational issues and guest concerns
- Provide direction and support to Front Desk Agents during busy arrival periods
- Ensure effective communication and handover between day and evening teams

Front Desk Operations

- Oversee guest arrivals and check-ins
- Complete guest check-ins accurately and efficiently
- Verify guest identification, payment information, reservations, room assignments, and special requests




- Review guest folios and ensure guest accounts are accurate
- Resolve billing discrepancies, adjustments, corrections, and payment issues
- Process cash, credit card transactions, deposits, refunds, and balancing procedures
- Monitor room inventory and room status throughout the shift
- Coordinate with Housekeeping to ensure rooms are prioritized and released for arriving guests
- Manage early arrivals, late arrivals, room changes, upgrades, and special accommodations
- Coordinate VIP arrivals and ensure appropriate guest preferences and requests are communicated
- Assist with group arrivals, tour groups, weddings, and other large-scale arrivals
- Review arrivals, departures, occupancy, VIP lists, and operational reports
- Monitor no-shows, cancellations, walk-ins, and same-day reservations
- Ensure guest profiles, preferences, and notes are accurate and updated
- Coordinate with Maintenance regarding out-of-order rooms and guest issues
- Work closely with Reservations to ensure booking accuracy and resolve reservation discrepancies
- Liaise with Spa, Golf, Food & Beverage, Housekeeping, Maintenance, and other departments
- Monitor and respond to guest requests throughout the evening
- Ensure effective shift-to-shift communication and completion of the evening handover
- Prepare the Front Desk and relevant operational information for the overnight team

Guest Experience

- Deliver exceptional hospitality from arrival through departure
- Create a warm and welcoming experience for arriving guests
- Resolve guest concerns quickly, professionally, and appropriately
- Make sound service recovery decisions that protect both the guest experience and the resort
- Build relationships with repeat guests and recognize VIP visitors




- Anticipate guest needs and proactively address concerns
- Assist guests with resort information, dining, Spa, Golf, activities, and local recommendations
- Create memorable guest experiences while maintaining company policies and standards

What We're Looking For

Required Experience

- Minimum 2–3 years of hotel or resort Front Desk experience
- Previous supervisory, shift leader, or Front Desk leadership experience
- Strong understanding of hotel Front Desk operations
- Experience handling guest arrivals, check-ins, billing, folios, payment processing, and adjustments
- Experience using a hotel Property Management System (PMS)
- Strong understanding of reservations, arrivals, departures, room inventory, and guest accounts
- Exceptional customer service and communication skills
- Excellent problem-solving ability and sound decision-making skills
- Strong organizational skills with excellent attention to detail
- Ability to remain calm and professional during busy arrival periods
- Ability to work independently and confidently make operational decisions

Preferred Experience

- Experience in one or more of the following:

o Full-service hotels or resorts

o Luxury or destination properties

o Group arrivals and tour operations

o Revenue awareness and room inventory management

o Accounting

o Staff coaching and training

o VIP guest services and service recovery
