Ocean Freight Operations Coordinator

Location: Richmond, BC
Position: Full-Time
Working Hours: Monday–Friday, 9:00 AM–5:00 PM
Salary: Negotiable, based on experience

A freight forwarding company in Richmond, BC is looking for an experienced and detail-oriented Ocean Freight Operations Coordinator to join our team.

Responsibilities

- Coordinate and monitor ocean import and export shipments from start to finish
- Handle daily shipment follow-ups and ensure smooth operations
- Communicate and coordinate with customers, carriers, overseas agents, warehouses, truckers, and other service providers
- Prepare, review, and maintain shipping and customs-related documents
- Track shipment status and provide timely updates to customers
- Resolve shipment-related issues and coordinate solutions when necessary
- Ensure all shipments are handled accurately and efficiently

Requirements

- At least 1 year of experience in ocean freight operations or freight forwarding




- Previous experience in logistics, shipping, or international trade is preferred
- Fluent English communication skills, both written and verbal
- Mandarin Chinese is an asset and preferred
- Strong communication, coordination, and problem-solving skills
- Detail-oriented, organized, responsible, and able to work independently
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple shipments simultaneously
- Legal authorization to work in Canada

Training will be provided to the successful candidate as needed.
