Duties
- Assist veterinarians and technicians during examinations, treatments, and surgeries by preparing equipment and restraining animals safely.
- Provide compassionate care by feeding, bathing, and monitoring animals’ health status throughout their visit.
- Maintain cleanliness of treatment areas, kennels, surgical suites, and equipment to uphold the highest standards of hygiene.
- Collect samples such as blood, urine, or feces for laboratory testing, ensuring proper handling and documentation.
- Support laboratory procedures by preparing samples and assisting with basic diagnostic tests when needed.
- Educate pet owners on post-treatment care instructions, medication administration, and general animal health tips.
- Keep detailed records of patient treatments, medications administered, and observations to ensure accurate documentation.
Experience
- Previous experience working with animals in a veterinary clinic or related environment is preferred but not required; training will be provided for motivated candidates.
- Strong communication skills to effectively interact with pet owners and team members.
- Ability to handle animals gently yet confidently while maintaining safety for all involved.
- Willingness to learn new procedures and adapt in a fast-paced environment.
