Stable Hand / Equestrian Barn Assistant

Corner Stone Farms is looking for a reliable, mature, and hardworking Stable Hand / Equestrian Barn Assistant to join our team on a part-time, permanent basis.

We are a busy equestrian facility located just south of Calgary in Priddis, Alberta, at the intersection of 22X and Highway 22. Our facility includes a heated indoor arena and two outdoor arenas, providing an excellent environment for someone who enjoys working with horses and being part of an equestrian operation.

We are looking for someone who genuinely enjoys working with horses and understands the responsibility involved in providing excellent daily horse care.

About the Position

The successful candidate will have hands-on horse and barn experience and a solid understanding of safe horse handling and good horsemanship practices.

This is an active, physical position involving daily horse care, barn duties, and stable maintenance. Reliability, maturity, patience, and integrity are essential.

Responsibilities include:

- Horse turn-in and turn-out
- Feeding and watering horses
- Stall cleaning and general barn cleaning
- Daily horse care and stable maintenance
- Safe handling and movement of horses
- Assisting with horse trailers, including box trailers and box vans
- Maintaining a clean, safe, and organized barn environment
- Other general barn and equestrian facility duties as required
- Opportunity to work alongside our trainer and develop additional horse care, horsemanship, and equestrian skills

Qualifications & Requirements

- Previous horse, barn, stable,



or equestrian experience is required
- Good horsemanship and horse-handling skills; some formal or informal training is preferred
- Experience with daily horse care, feeding, turnout, and stall cleaning is an asset
- Reliable and dependable
- Mature, responsible, and trustworthy
- Patient and comfortable working around horses
- Willing and able to perform physically demanding barn work
- Able to lift up to 50 lbs
- Comfortable working outdoors in all weather conditions, including hot summer days and cold weather
- Comfortable working with different types of horse trailers, including box trailers and box vans
- Valid driver's licence with a clean driving record
- Must be able to successfully complete a background check and drug test
- Must be willing to work hard and take pride in maintaining high standards of horse care
