MCITY Support Services provides home and community care that helps clients live safely and independently in the place they call home — seniors, adults living with disabilities, and people recovering from illness or surgery. We are currently hiring Personal Support Workers in The Durham Region.

WHAT YOU'LL DO

- Assist clients with bathing, showering, grooming, oral care, dressing, and toileting

- Support safe transfers, positioning, and the use of mobility aids and mechanical lifts

- Prepare meals and snacks that match client preferences and prescribed dietary needs

- Handle light housekeeping: tidying, dishes, laundry, and changing bed linens

- Provide companionship and meaningful social and recreational engagement

- Accompany or drive clients to appointments, pharmacies, and errands

- Give medication reminders within the limits of the care plan

- Report changes in a client's condition and complete visit documentation

- Follow the care plan and infection prevention practices at every visit

WHAT YOU NEED

- PSW certificate from a recognized or ministry-approved program.

- Strong verbal and written communication skills in English

- Current Standard First Aid and CPR/AED certification (Level C)

- Clear Vulnerable Sector Police Record Check completed within the last six months

- Up-to-date immunization records, including a two-step TB test

- Legally entitled to work in Canada

NICE TO HAVE

- One or more years in home care, long-term care, community support, or retirement living

- Valid driver's licence,



a reliable vehicle, and valid automobile insurance

- Experience with dementia, palliative needs, or complex physical care

- Training in safe lifts and transfers or gentle persuasive approach

- A second language spoken by our client community

WHAT THE WORK IS LIKE

You will travel between client homes, and shifts can include days, evenings, weekends, and statutory holidays. The role involves standing, bending, and lifting or repositioning clients using proper technique and approved equipment. Some visits are emotionally demanding. Pay: $21.00-$25.00 per hour

Expected hours: 20.0 – 30.0 per week
