Assurance Manager | $110,000–$135,000 | Toronto (Hybrid)

This opportunity is with an established mid-sized CPA firm in Midtown Toronto, managing a varied assurance portfolio across privately held companies, not-for-profits and other organizations.

What you’ll be doing:

- Manage audit and review engagements from planning through completion
- Take responsibility for engagement budgets, timelines and workflow
- Review working papers and financial statements
- Resolve accounting and assurance issues before Partner review
- Oversee risk assessments and audit strategy
- Act as the main point of contact for clients
- Manage multiple engagements at different stages
- Review work prepared by Seniors and junior accountants
- Coach and develop members of the assurance team
- Identify internal control weaknesses and improvement opportunities
- Support clients with financial reporting and accounting matters
- Work closely with Partners on more complex client issues
- Assist with staff planning,



scheduling and engagement resourcing
- Support wider business development and client relationship activity

What they’re looking for:

- CPA designation
- 5+ years of Canadian public accounting experience
- Strong audit and review engagement background
- Previous experience leading engagements and reviewing staff work
- Robust ASPE knowledge
- ASNPO experience would be useful
- Experience managing client relationships
- Ability to manage several engagements simultaneously
- Experience coaching and developing professional staff
- Strong technical accounting and assurance knowledge
- CaseWare experience useful
