Eastco Construction Inc. is looking for an experienced Municipal Water & Sewer Pipe Foreman to lead an underground civil construction crew based in the Moncton area.

This position requires direct experience installing municipal water main, sanitary sewer and storm sewer. General construction foreman, plumbing or industrial pipefitting experience alone does not meet the requirements for this position.

We are looking for someone who already understands municipal underground work and can confidently lead a pipe crew from excavation through installation, grading, backfill and completion.

What You’ll Be Doing

As Pipe Foreman, you will be responsible for the day-to-day operation of your crew and job site, including:

- Leading and supervising a municipal pipe installation crew
- Installing water main, sanitary sewer and storm sewer systems
- Reading and interpreting civil drawings, profiles, elevations, grades and specifications
- Planning daily pipe installation and coordinating excavation, bedding, pipe placement, backfill and compaction
- Working closely with excavator operators, pipe layers, labourers and project management
- Checking grades and ensuring pipe is installed to project specifications
- Coordinating materials, equipment and job-site requirements




- Maintaining production while ensuring work is completed correctly and safely
- Communicating daily progress, concerns and material requirements to the Project Manager
- Enforcing trenching, shoring and excavation safety requirements
- Conducting toolbox talks and maintaining a safe, organized job site

Experience We Require

Please apply only if you have direct municipal underground water and sewer experience.

Successful candidates must have:

- Minimum 3 years of hands-on municipal water and sewer installation experience
- Previous experience as a Pipe Foreman, Underground Foreman or Lead Hand
- Experience installing water main, sanitary sewer and storm sewer
- Ability to read civil construction drawings, pipe profiles, grades and elevations
- Strong understanding of trenching, shoring and excavation safety
- Ability to organize and lead a crew efficiently
- Strong communication and problem-solving skills
- Valid Class 5 driver's licence
- Ability to reliably report to work in the Moncton, Dieppe or Riverview area
- Willingness to travel to Eastco job sites within Current Brunswick as required

- Has spent several years working in the trench and around municipal pipe installation
- Knows how a productive pipe crew should operate




- Can look ahead and have materials, equipment and crew ready for the next stage of work
- Can troubleshoot grade, installation and job-site issues
- Takes pride in production without sacrificing workmanship or safety
- Is comfortable directing employees and making day-to-day job-site decisions

Important

This is not an entry-level foreman position.

Applicants whose experience is primarily residential plumbing, commercial plumbing, industrial pipefitting, building construction or general labour without municipal underground water/sewer experience will not be considered for this role.
