Lead Pharmacy Assistant – Full Time

KindRx Pharmacy is seeking an experienced, dependable, and organized Full-Time Lead Pharmacy Assistant to take on a key operational role within our pharmacy.

This position is ideal for an experienced pharmacy assistant who is comfortable working independently, managing multiple responsibilities, and helping coordinate day-to-day pharmacy workflow.

Responsibilities

- Communicate with patients regarding prescription pickup, delivery scheduling, and prescription readiness
- Receive and prepare prescription orders
- Assist with prescription data entry and processing
- Process, prepare, and schedule blister/compliance packs
- Coordinate medication changes and outstanding prescriptions for blister-pack patients
- Order medications and pharmacy supplies from wholesalers
- Receive and organize incoming inventory
- Monitor stock levels, backorders, shortages, and special orders
- Assist with inventory and expiry management
- Troubleshoot third-party billing and insurance claim issues
- Communicate with insurance providers when required
- Support and train other pharmacy assistants
- Help coordinate daily assistant workflow
- Assist with pharmacy organization, problem-solving, and workflow improvement
- Escalate clinical or prescribing concerns to the pharmacist when appropriate

Qualifications

- Previous community pharmacy assistant experience preferred
- Strong prescription-processing and data-entry skills
- Experience with blister/compliance packaging
- Experience with third-party billing and insurance troubleshooting




- Experience with medication ordering and inventory management
- Robust organizational and time-management skills
- Excellent communication skills
- Reliable, professional, and detail-oriented
- Able to work independently and take initiative
- Comfortable taking ownership of assigned responsibilities
- Senior or lead pharmacy assistant experience is an asset

Compensation

KindRx Pharmacy uses a competency-based wage structure.

- Level 1 – Pharmacy Assistant: $22.00/hour
- Level 2 – Experienced Assistant: $24.50/hour
- Level 3 – Senior Assistant: $26.50/hour
- Level 4 – Lead Assistant: $28.50/hour
- Level 5 – Senior Lead / Operations Assistant: $30.00/hour

The successful candidate will complete an initial probationary period during which competency, independence, workflow knowledge, reliability, communication, and problem-solving ability will be assessed.

Final placement within the wage structure will be based on demonstrated competency, not years of experience alone.

Employees may progress to higher compensation levels as they demonstrate increased skill, independence, leadership, and operational responsibility.

Health & Wellness Allowance





Full-time employees receive an annual lump-sum Health & Wellness Allowance:

- Levels 1–3: $1,500/year
- Levels 4–5: $2,000/year

KindRx Pharmacy does not currently offer a traditional employer-sponsored health and dental benefits plan.

Vacation

Vacation entitlement is based on years of service:

- Years 1–2: 2 weeks
- Year 3+: 3 weeks
- For experienced candidates, we are willing to consider matching vacation entitlement from a previous employer as part of the overall compensation package

Additional Compensation

- Annual bonus program based on overall business performance
