Part time Centre Director

Job Type: Permanent, Part-Time
Hours: Approximately 20–25 hours per week
Pay: $22–$25 per hour

Schedule: Weekday afternoons and evenings, with occasional weekend availability

About the Role

Vteach Learning Centre is looking for an experienced and dependable Part-Time Centre Director to oversee daily operations during our busiest teaching hours.

This is a hands-on leadership position involving student programming, tutor supervision, parent communication, scheduling, enrolment and general centre management.

We are looking for someone who has previously worked in a leadership or management role within a tutoring centre, learning centre, school or similar educational environment.

Responsibilities

- Oversee the centre’s daily operations.
- Manage student and tutor schedules, absences, substitutions and make-up classes.
- Support student assessments, placements and learning plans.
- Monitor student progress and ensure lesson notes and attendance are completed.
- Supervise, support and provide feedback to tutors.
- Assist with tutor recruitment, onboarding and scheduling.
- Communicate with parents regarding progress, scheduling and concerns.
- Respond to new inquiries, schedule assessments and follow up with prospective families.
- Support student enrolment and retention.
- Maintain accurate student and staff records.
- Ensure the centre remains organized, welcoming and professional.
- Provide the owner with regular updates about students, staffing, enrolment and centre operations.

Qualifications

- At least two years of leadership, management or senior coordination experience in a tutoring centre, learning centre,



school or related education setting.
- Experience supervising tutors, teachers or education staff.
- Strong understanding of student learning and academic programming.
- Excellent communication, organization and problem-solving skills.
- Confidence handling parent concerns and staff conversations.
- Ability to work independently and take ownership of daily operations.
- Comfortable using scheduling systems, email, spreadsheets and student-management platforms.
- Bachelor’s degree preferred.
- Teaching certification is an asset but not required.
- Knowledge of the Alberta K–12 curriculum is an asset.
- Must be eligible to work in Canada and provide a satisfactory Vulnerable Sector Check.

Compensation

$22–$25 per hour, depending on directly relevant experience and qualifications.

There may be opportunities for additional hours, performance incentives and growth into a full-time leadership position.
