Business Development Representative (BDR)

About the Role

We are looking for a motivated, organized, and results-driven Business Development Representative (BDR) to help grow our sales pipeline.

This is a hunter role. The successful candidate must be proactive and comfortable finding new opportunities rather than waiting for leads to come in. You will research organizations and decision-makers, conduct outreach, generate qualified leads, schedule product demonstrations, identify RFP opportunities, and support our presence at industry conferences and trade shows.

We are looking for someone who is energetic, professional, highly organized, comfortable with technology, and motivated by measurable results.

Key Responsibilities Lead Generation & Prospecting

- Proactively identify and develop new business opportunities.
- Research prospective organizations, industries, and key decision-makers.
- Use LinkedIn, online research, industry directories, associations, conferences, and other sources to identify potential customers.
- Build and maintain targeted prospect lists.
- Conduct outbound outreach through email, LinkedIn, phone, and other channels.
- Maintain a professional and active LinkedIn profile and use LinkedIn as a core business development tool.
- Follow up consistently with prospects to move opportunities forward.

Demo & Meeting Generation

- Generate qualified leads for the sales team.
- Schedule product demonstrations and introductory meetings with prospective customers.
- Coordinate calendars and ensure meetings are properly scheduled and confirmed.
- Provide the sales team with relevant background and research before each meeting.
- Follow up after meetings and demonstrations to help maintain momentum.
- Track activity and opportunities through the company's CRM and sales processes.

RFP Management

- Take ownership of identifying and tracking relevant RFPs,



RFQs and RFIs.
- Regularly research public and private procurement portals for new opportunities.
- Maintain an organized RFP calendar including deadlines, questions, submission dates and requirements.
- Coordinate internally to ensure RFP responses are completed accurately and submitted on time.
- Maintain an organized library of RFP documents, previous responses and supporting materials.
- Monitor upcoming procurement opportunities and bring relevant opportunities to management's attention.

Trade Shows & Conferences

- Be responsible for coordinating the company's participation in trade shows, conferences and industry events.
- Research and recommend events that align with the company's target markets.
- Manage registrations, booth bookings, sponsorships, materials and event logistics.
- Identify prospective customers and attendees before each event.
- Help schedule meetings and demonstrations before and during conferences.
- Organize post-event leads and ensure timely follow-up.
- Track the leads and opportunities generated from each event.

Skills & Qualifications

- 1–2 years of experience in business development, sales development, lead generation, inside sales or a similar role.
- Must be a proactive hunter who enjoys finding and developing new opportunities.
- Must have and maintain a professional LinkedIn profile.
- Strong online research and prospecting skills.
- Robust organizational and time-management skills.
- Comfortable making outbound calls and communicating with new prospects.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.




- Good computer and technology skills.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office, including Outlook, Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
- Comfortable using Google Workspace, including Gmail, Docs, Sheets, Drive and Calendar.
- Experience with CRM systems and LinkedIn Sales Navigator is an asset.
- Able to manage multiple projects, deadlines, RFPs and events simultaneously.
- Detail-oriented and dependable with strong follow-through.
- Comfortable working independently and being accountable for results.

Key Performance Expectations

Success in this position will be measured by:

- Number of new qualified leads generated.
- Number of demos and sales meetings scheduled.
- Consistency and quality of outbound prospecting activity.
- Growth and quality of the sales pipeline.
- Number and quality of relevant RFP opportunities identified.
- On-time management and submission of RFPs.
- Successful organization of trade shows and conferences.
- Lead generation and follow-up from industry events.
- Accuracy and organization of CRM and prospect information.
