Overview

We are seeking a Senior Software Developer to design and deliver secure, production-grade applications and APIs in Microsoft Azure for a regulated financial-services environment. The role requires a hands-on senior engineer with strong .NET, API, system-integration and UI development capabilities who can work across the full software development lifecycle.

The successful candidate will use modern engineering practices, including GitHub, GitHub Copilot and AI-assisted development and testing tools, while producing high-quality technical documentation and communicating effectively with business, architecture, security, QA and delivery stakeholders.

Role and Responsibilities

Application Deployment

- Design, develop and maintain secure RESTful APIs and system integrations, including solutions aligned to FDX standards where applicable.
- Develop backend services and applications using C#, .NET and Azure-native services, including Azure Functions.
- Configure and manage Azure API Management (APIM), including policies, routing, throttling, versioning, security controls and gateway enforcement.
- Implement OAuth 2.0 and OpenID Connect (OIDC) authentication/authorization, token validation and secure application access patterns.
- Integrate Azure Key Vault for secure management of secrets, certificates and application credentials.
- Develop responsive user interfaces using React and support React / React Native solutions for mobile application experiences.
- Design and implement integrations between internal platforms, third-party services, APIs and enterprise systems.
- Use GitHub for source control, pull requests, code reviews and cooperative development; effectively use GitHub Copilot and other approved AI tools to accelerate development while maintaining engineering standards.
- Design and maintain automated unit, integration, API and regression tests, including the use of AI-assisted / AI-based testing approaches where appropriate.
- Build and support CI/CD pipelines and automated deployment processes across Dev, QA and Production environments.
- Implement application and API hardening, including input/schema validation, rate limiting, security headers, error handling, logging, monitoring and observability.
- Participate in architecture, design, code and production-readiness reviews and troubleshoot complex issues across integrated systems.
- Create and maintain clear technical documentation, including solution designs, API specifications,



integration flows, deployment procedures and operational support documentation.
- Communicate proactively and clearly with technical and non-technical stakeholders, providing concise status, risks, dependencies and recommendations.

AI-Assisted Engineering & Modern Development Practices

- Utilize AI-assisted development tools such as Claude Code and AI Agents to improve development efficiency, code quality, troubleshooting, and productivity.
- Apply modern engineering practices including reusable component design, clean architecture principles, and secure coding standards.
- Continuously evaluate emerging development tools, frameworks, and best practices to improve delivery effectiveness.

Quality & Test-Driven Development

- Develop and maintain unit tests and contribute to Test-Driven Development (TDD) practices.
- Collaborate closely with Quality Engineering teams to ensure automated testing coverage and high-quality software delivery.
- Participate in code reviews and peer collaboration sessions to maintain coding standards and solution quality.
- Troubleshoot and resolve defects, performance issues, and technical challenges in a timely manner.

Collaboration & Agile Delivery

- Work closely with Product Owners, Business Analysts, Architects, and DevOps teams to translate business requirements into technical solutions.
- Participate in Agile ceremonies including sprint planning, standups, retrospectives, and backlog refinement sessions.
- Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives across development, testing, and deployment processes.
- Communicate technical concepts clearly to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

Qualification and Experience

- 7+ years of professional software development experience, with demonstrated senior-level ownership of production solutions.
- Strong hands-on C# and .NET development experience, including API and backend service development.
- Strong experience with Azure API Management (APIM), Azure Functions, Azure Key Vault and Azure Application Insights / Azure Monitor.
- Hands-on experience with OAuth 2.0, OpenID Connect (OIDC), token validation and secure API design.
- Experience with React; React Native or comparable mobile application development experience is strongly preferred.
- Strong system integration experience across APIs, enterprise applications and third-party platforms.
- Proficiency with GitHub workflows, branching, pull requests and code reviews; practical experience using GitHub Copilot or comparable AI-assisted development tools.
- Experience designing and implementing automated testing across unit, integration, API and regression layers; exposure to AI-assisted testing tools and techniques.
- Experience with CI/CD, automated deployments and modern DevOps practices in Azure environments.
- Strong understanding of API security, secure coding, observability, performance/load testing and production support.
- Experience delivering software in regulated or security-sensitive environments; financial-services experience is an asset.
- Exceptional verbal and written communication skills with the ability to explain complex technical concepts clearly.
- Exceptional documentation skills and a disciplined approach to solution design, technical specifications and operational documentation.
- Ability to work independently, lead technical discussions, collaborate across teams and mentor or guide other developers

Pay: Up to $100,000.00 per year
