We are seeking a 3rd Engineer (Shipboard) to join our agile team on our vessel, the IT Integrity. This role is vital in ensuring the proper operation and maintenance of marine cable systems, supporting our mission to provide top-tier subsea communication infrastructure.
Responsibilities
They will be responsible for the safe and efficient operation of machinery, specialized cable and operational equipment and equipment in the Engine Department, in particular for:
- Keeping engineering watches according to regulations, company rules and guidelines
- Monitoring maintenance and routine engine room operations
- Advising the Chief Engineer about spare part requirements
- Assisting with Spare Part Control systems and assisting with keeping them up to date
- Monitoring of machinery to ensure efficient operation,
to minimize fuel and oil consumption and to ensure maximum availability of machinery at all times
- Ensuring that other departments are kept fully informed of any engine room activities which may affect them
- Understanding and implementing the Safety Management System within the Engine Department
- Monitoring Motormen
- Reporting defects or irregularities to the Chief Engineer immediately
- Ensuring efficient and economic usage of spare gear
- Keeping planned maintenance records up to date
- Implementing HSE policies at the individual level
Required Certificates (please note we require the full certificate, no provisional):
- Certificate of Competency - Third Engineer
- Valid marine medical, with no limitations
- STCW Safety Training (Basic Safety, Survival Craft, Advanced Firefighting)
- Ship Personnel with Designated Security Duties
- Seaman’s Book
- Valid passport
