Our well-established client in the real estate development and construction industry is looking for a accurate, data-driven Accounting Manager to join their team on a full-time, permanent basis.

The Accounting

Manager runs the day-to-day accounting cycle and leads a team of accounting clerks, ensuring transactions are processed accurately and on time, ledgers stay clean, and each monthly close comes together complete and well-supported.

The Accounting

Manager works closely with the broader finance team to keep things running efficiently. It's a role with real ownership, serving as the first set of eyes on the clerks' work and a key part of what keeps the control environment strong. The ideal candidate is organized, a natural relationship builder, efficient, and a self-starter who communicates well and pays close attention to detail. Reporting to the Controller, the successful candidate will:

- Oversee AP, cash application, and general ledger transaction processing, including reconciliations (GL, bank, supplier statements), intercompany balances, payment approvals, and HST/tax filings and audits
- Coordinate month-end close against the task calendar, prepare subsidiary ledger reconciliations, and support the Controller and Finance team with year-end working papers, reporting,



and cash flow forecasting
- Lead, develop, and manage the accounting clerk team, including workload allocation, capacity planning, training, and mentoring
- Manage the team's task calendar and workflow, ensuring on-time, accurate completion and building cross-departmental relationships to support reporting integrity
- Apply and enforce internal controls, ensure compliance with finance policies, and recommend improvements to procedures and controls
- Identify and implement process automation and documentation improvements to increase efficiency and reduce key-person dependency
- Perform other duties as required within the scope of the role

Qualifications:

The main qualifications for this role include:

- Degree in Finance, Accounting or a related field
- 3+ years of experience in accounting

Compensation:

- $85,000 - $95,000 annual salary range
- Strong benefits package
- 3 weeks’ vacation + 2-week Christmas shutdown
