Job Overview

We are seeking a compassionate, dedicated, and responsible Childcare Provider & Class 4 Driver to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a genuine passion for working with children and the ability to create a nurturing, safe, and engaging environment.

In addition to providing quality care and supporting children's learning and development, this position requires the successful candidate to hold a valid Class 4 Driver’s Licence and safely transport children to and from school as part of our before-and-after-school program.

Duties

- Supervise and engage with children in a safe, nurturing, and stimulating workplace.
- Plan and implement age-appropriate activities that support children's learning and development.
- Provide daily care for children, including feeding, diapering, and assisting with personal hygiene as required.
- Foster children's social, emotional, physical, and cognitive development through play and structured activities.
- Communicate respectfully and effectively with parents and families regarding their child's day, progress, and any concerns.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and welcoming classroom and play environment.
- Support children with diverse needs by adapting activities and providing individualized support where required.
- Build positive and respectful relationships with children, families, and team members.
- Follow all childcare centre policies, procedures, health and safety requirements, and licensing regulations.
- Safely transport children to and from school using the centre's designated vehicle.
- Complete required vehicle and safety checks before transporting children.




- Ensure children are safely secured and supervised throughout transportation.
- Maintain a safe, calm, and positive environment for children during school transportation.

Requirements
- Previous experience working with children is required.
- A valid Class 4 Driver’s Licence is required.
- A clean and acceptable driver's abstract.
- Knowledge of early childhood education principles is highly desirable.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Ability to communicate effectively with children, parents, families, and colleagues.
- Ability to create engaging, age-appropriate activities that encourage learning through play.
- Ability to work as part of a team and contribute positively to the childcare environment.
- Must demonstrate patience, compassion, reliability, and a strong commitment to children's safety and well-being.
- Current First Aid certification, or willingness to obtain it, as required.
- Criminal Record Check and other required childcare employment documentation.
