The Role

As an Area Manager, you will oversee cleaning operations and service delivery across an assigned portfolio in the GTA. Reporting directly to the Operations Manager, you will serve as the primary link between site management and our front-line staff.

Your mission will be to ensure site compliance, budget adherence, and flawless service delivery while maintaining high standards of health, safety, and customer satisfaction.

Key ResponsibilitiesOperations & Client Relations

- Client Engagement: Serve as the primary point of contact for client site management. Meet regularly with building managers to ensure standards are met and address requests or complaints promptly.
- Quality Assurance: Conduct routine QA inspections across assigned sites to ensure compliance with the scope of work.
- Absence & Coverage Management: Coordinate and schedule replacement coverage for unexpected staff absences to guarantee uninterrupted service.
- Reporting & Administration: Execute and submit payroll reports, site inventories, and operational documentation to designated departments on time.

Team Leadership & Staff Management
- On-Site Management: Provide direct day-to-day leadership, mentorship, and supervision to cleaning supervisors and staff.
- Performance Management: Conduct reviews, offer ongoing guidance, implement corrective measures, and handle staff terminations when necessary.
- Onboarding & Training: Lead onboarding, initial training, and retraining for staff on company procedures, tools, chemicals, and powered machinery (e.g.,



auto-scrubbers, power washers).

Health, Safety & Equipment Maintenance
- Safety Enforcement: Actively promote, train on, and enforce adherence to the highest standards of health and safety, including holding regular safety meetings and annual site inspections.
- Equipment Care: Inspect tools, equipment, and machinery regularly to ensure proper maintenance and safe operation.

Qualifications & Experience
- Experience: 2–5 years of supervisory/management experience in the janitorial or facilities services industry.
- Technical Skills: Hands-on proficiency with commercial cleaning equipment (including large floor scrubbers, solvents, and chemicals) and comfortable using modern technology (computers, email, and web/mobile apps).
- Health & Safety Knowledge: Strong working knowledge of the Occupational Health & Safety Act (OHSA), WHMIS 2015, and secure work protocols.
- Licensing & Work Authorization:
- Valid Ontario Full G Class Driver’s License with a clean driver’s abstract.
- Valid SIN card and authorization to work in Canada.
- Communication: Excellent verbal and written English communication skills; ability to lead meetings and write clear operational reports. (Speaking Spanish or Portuguese is considered a strong asset).
- Leadership: Proven ability to manage, train, and motivate a culturally diverse team in a fast-paced environment.

Working Conditions & Physical Requirements
- Flexible Schedule: Willingness to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and statutory holidays as operationally required.
- On-Call Availability: Carry a company-issued mobile phone to respond to urgent site emergencies or critical situations outside regular hours.
- Travel: Travel across multiple site locations in the GTA (must have reliable transportation to reach central/Downtown Toronto locations).

Pay: $45,000.00-$60,000.00 per year
