Overview

Windsor Industrial Services is seeking an experienced Assembly Supervisor to lead our assembly team in a custom fabrication environment. Our shop specializes in the fabrication and assembly of conveyor systems and custom industrial equipment.

The Assembly Supervisor will oversee daily assembly operations; ensuring work is completed safely, efficiently, accurately, and according to customer specifications, engineering drawings, and production schedules.

RESPONSIBILITIES

- Supervise and coordinate daily activities of the assembly department.
- Lead, train, and support assembly employees to ensure production targets are met.
- Read and interpret engineering drawings, assembly drawings, and related documentation.
- Oversee the mechanical assembly of conveyors, components, and custom fabricated equipment.
- Ensure assemblies are completed accurately and according to specifications and quality standards.
- Coordinate with Welding/Fabrication, Engineering, Quality, and other departments to ensure smooth workflow.
- Monitor production schedules and prioritize work to meet customer deadlines.
- Inspect completed assemblies and identify quality issues or required corrections.
- Coordinate with Paint Department and help kit jobs for the Assembly Department
- Troubleshoot mechanical assembly issues and assist employees in resolving problems.
- Ensure proper use of tools, equipment, lifting devices, and material-handling equipment.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.




- Enforce company safety policies and safe work practices.
- Monitor employee attendance, performance, productivity, and adherence to company policies.
- Communicate production status, issues, and delays to management.
- Assist with material requirements and ensure components are available for scheduled jobs.
- Participate in continuous improvement initiatives to improve efficiency, quality, and workflow.

QUALIFICATIONS

- 3+ years of experience in mechanical assembly, industrial equipment assembly, conveyor systems, or a similar manufacturing environment.
- Previous supervisory or lead-hand experience in a manufacturing environment.
- Strong ability to read and interpret engineering and assembly drawings.
- Solid mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills.
- Experience with conveyor systems, power transmission components, bearings, shafts, motors, gearboxes, and related mechanical components is an asset.
- Ability to use common hand and power tools and basic measuring equipment.
- Strong organizational and communication skills.
- Ability to prioritize multiple projects and work effectively in a deadline-driven environment.
- Ability to work hands-on and provide direction and support to the assembly team.
- Commitment to workplace safety and quality.
- Forklift/overhead crane experience is an asset.
