: The Assessor Coordinator Degree Senior works as a member and the team lead of a multi-disciplinary team. The incumbent will provide clinical supervision and leadership to interdisciplinary regulated/unregulated team members. The incumbent will be responsible for assessment, determination of presenting issue, case management, crisis intervention, clinical consultation, education and referral services for clients and their families as appropriate, representing the streams of service delivery: addiction, mental health and concurrent addiction and mental health issues.

The incumbent will participate in addiction and mental health prevention/promotion activities and contribution to the establishment and maintenance of addiction and mental health resources in the community. The incumbent will develop and maintain strong working relationships with key stakeholders to provide a continuum of recovery oriented services to clients accessing community Addiction and Mental Health services.

Experience

- Min. 2 years of experience in a Mental Health and Addiction setting is required.

Education

- Bachelor of Science in Human Services (BSHS)

Licenses

- Valid Class 5 driver's license

- Knowledge of psychopathology and the family life cycle and systems theory.

- Demonstrated knowledge in the area of adult assessment and intervention
- Ability to adapt to changing conditions
- Initiative in organizing work in accordance with departmental procedures
- Knowledge of local human service organizations, resources & referral procedures
- Ability to make decisions in accordance with policies/procedures of SHA/MHAS/ED
- Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing
- Ability to prioritize to meet deadlines and work effectively under pressure
- Knowledge in mental health/mental illness impact on client, family and community
- Knowledge of how mental health impacts the individual, community and families
- Ability to teach & train a variety of users in workshop and individual sessions
- Knowledge of how addictions impacts the individual, community and families
- Knowledge of human growth, development and human behavior.
- Ability to plan/organize/coordinate with other multidisciplinary team members
