Assistant Food & Beverage Manager

Willow Park Golf & Country Club is seeking an energetic and experienced Assistant Food & Beverage Manager to join our team.

Located in southeast Calgary, Willow Park is a private golf club with a vibrant and active membership that takes great pride in their Club. Our Food & Beverage operation is an significant part of the member experience, whether members are enjoying a meal after golf, meeting friends for a drink on our patio, attending a Club event or celebrating a special occasion.

Our clubhouse features a busy member dining room, banquet and event space, and one of the Club's most popular gathering places, our outdoor garden patio surrounding the putting green. Throughout the golf season, the Club hosts a full calendar of tournaments, member events, weddings, banquets and social functions.

This is a hands-on management position and a great opportunity for someone who enjoys being on the floor, interacting with members and guests, developing staff and being part of a busy team environment. No two days at Willow Park are quite the same.

The Position

Reporting to Club management, the Assistant Food & Beverage Manager will help oversee the daily operation of the Food & Beverage department while ensuring the high level of service expected by our membership.

Responsibilities include

- Supervising daily Food & Beverage operations and service staff
- Hiring, onboarding, training and developing Food & Beverage employees
- Preparing staff schedules based on dining, tournament, banquet and Club event requirements
- Maintaining a strong presence on the floor and building relationships with members and guests




- Supporting and motivating staff while maintaining consistent service standards
- Assisting with menu development and providing feedback based on member preferences and service requirements
- Assisting with purchasing, inventory management and cost controls
- Coordinating and executing Club tournaments, special events, banquets and catering functions
- Developing and implementing service and bar training programs
- Ensuring Club policies and Food & Beverage procedures are consistently followed
- Ensuring compliance with all applicable employment, health and safety, and liquor regulations
- Working closely with the culinary team and other Club departments to provide a consistent member experience
- Participating in the Club's Health & Safety program
- Other duties as required

What We Are Looking For The successful candidate will be a strong communicator and hands-on leader who enjoys working with people. Private club experience is an asset, but more importantly, we are looking for someone who understands hospitality and takes pride in providing excellent service. Previous supervisory or management experience in restaurants, hotels, private clubs, resorts or other hospitality environments is preferred. Experience with Jonas Club Software is an asset but is not required.

The position requires flexibility, including evenings, weekends and holidays, particularly during the golf season and for major Club events.

Pay: $65,000.00-$75,000.00 per year
