Full-Time Employment Opportunities – Audio Operator – Event Support Team

As VCM will once again develop into the focal point of the holiday season in Vancouver, we are looking for customer-focused, detail-oriented, and multi-tasking self-starters to join our team as an AV Tech (Event Support Team). This position requires full-time availability and a commitment of 40 hours per week. The term for employment is from November 1, 2025, to December 24th, 2025.

Role and Responsibilities

Audio Operator

- Focused on fully setting up bands and solo performers independently
- Checking sound levels throughout the market
- Troubleshooting if the sound is not working in any area
- Tracking audio equipment distribution
- Activations are timed and will need to be supported
- No video or lighting operating is needed
- Avoiding bleeding of sound in zones outdoors




- Maintain outdoor equipment and make sure devices are charged

Requirements and Selection Criteria To be considered for a position, you must:
- Proven experience as an audio technician or sound operator in live event settings (e.g., festivals, concerts, or markets)
- Strong knowledge of audio systems, including setup and operation of mixers, microphones, DI boxes, and PA systems
- Ability to work independently and efficiently under tight time constraints
- Experience with troubleshooting live sound issues in real-time
- Familiarity with outdoor sound setups and managing sound bleed in multi-zone environments
- Comfortable working in outdoor winter conditions and during extended hours, including evenings and weekends
- Physically capable of lifting, transporting, and setting up audio equipment
- Solid communication skills and ability to coordinate with performers and event staff
- Basic inventory and asset management skills for tracking and maintaining equipment
- Must be reliable, punctual, and highly organized

Bonus Assets (Not Required but Nice to Have):
- Previous experience working at seasonal or outdoor markets
- Knowledge of wireless microphone systems and battery management
