We're looking for a Baker who takes the craft seriously and wants to keep getting better at it.

Daan Go is a specialty cake shop in Richmond. Custom and signature cakes, croissants and viennoiserie, breads. We bake for our retail counter and for established wholesale and catering channels, which means real volume and real variety in the same week. Our back of house is small and tight, led by our Chef and Sous Chef, and this role works alongside them every day.

That mix is the point. You might laminate croissants in the morning, bake off cake layers for the case, and get a wholesale order out the door before the counter opens. You'll get proper reps across cakes, pastry and bread, with people who know the craft and will teach it.

What you'll own

Production, hands on the dough, reporting to the Sous Chef. Cake layers, sponges and components to recipe and at volume. Mixing, laminating, shaping and proofing croissants and viennoiserie. Breads and doughs start to finish.

Wholesale and catering orders to spec and on deadline. You'll scale and prep from recipe cards, hold the line on consistency (bake, colour, crumb, portion), watch the dry goods and flag what's running low before it runs out, follow our allergen handling and labelling procedures carefully, and keep your station and the walk-in in good order.

Who we're looking for

- 1 to 2 years of baking experience in a bakery,



pastry kitchen or commercial kitchen
- Comfortable with commercial equipment: deck or convection ovens, planetary mixers, proofer, sheeter
- Reads a recipe precisely and scales it accurately, every time
- Reliable on early shifts, our day starts as early as 6am
- Lamination experience (croissant, danish, puff) a strong plus
- Bread or sourdough experience a strong plus
- Cake assembly, filling or decorating skills welcome
- Experience with wholesale or catering production volumes a plus
- Able to stand for a full shift and lift up to 50 lbs
- FOODSAFE Level 1, or willing to complete it within 30 days (we cover the cost)
- Legally entitled to work in Canada
- Someone who cares how it comes out of the oven, not just that it did

Compensation $18.25 to $20.00 per hour, with room to increase with experience. Full-time, 40 hours a week on a set schedule, plus a staff discount on cakes and pastries.

This is a kitchen where you'll actually build range, across three kinds of baking and three sales channels, rather than making the same thing every morning.
