Krause Berry Farms & Estate Winery is looking for an experienced Bakery Kitchen Production Worker to join our team in a full-time, year-round position.
We take pride in making many of our bakery products from scratch, using berries and ingredients grown right here on the Farm. From our pies and cakes to jams and other Farm favourites, our Bakery Kitchen is a busy place with lots happening throughout the day.
We are looking for someone who enjoys working with food, is comfortable in a fast-paced production kitchen and takes pride in the quality of what they make. You need to be able to follow recipes and instructions, stay organized and work well as part of a team.
Responsibilities include:
- Preparing and baking a variety of bakery products
- Measuring and preparing ingredients
- Following recipes and production lists accurately
- Working with commercial bakery and kitchen equipment
- Maintaining quality and consistency of products
- Keeping up with daily production requirements
- Properly storing, labelling and rotating ingredients and finished products
- Keeping work areas, equipment and the kitchen clean and organized
- Following FOODSAFE, sanitation and food handling procedures
- Helping receive and put away ingredients and supplies
- Working with the Bakery Kitchen Team to complete daily production
- Helping with other kitchen and bakery duties as needed
What we're looking for:
- Minimum 2 years of experience in a bakery,
production kitchen or similar commercial kitchen environment
- FOODSAFE certification
- Full-time, year-round availability
- Weekend availability is required
- Flexible availability as shifts may include early mornings and holidays
- Comfortable working in a busy, fast-paced production environment
- Able to read and follow recipes and production instructions
- Robust attention to quality and consistency
- Organized and able to manage multiple tasks
- Reliable, self-motivated and able to work well with others
- Good verbal and written communication skills in English
- Able to stand for long periods of time and perform the physical duties required in a production kitchen
