Bartender La Bocca, Whistler Village, BC

Start date: As soon as possible La Bocca is a casual fine-dining, Italian-inspired restaurant in the heart of Whistler Village. We’re a tight-knit local crew who love what we do and take pride in delivering warm, qualified service in a fun, fast-paced environment. We’re currently looking for a Bartender to join our front-of-house team year-round.

The Role

Full time/Part time year-round position.

30-40 hours per week for full time, 20 hours for part time. (Mix of day and evening shifts), Increased hours available during peak winter and summer seasons.

Must be available weekends, evenings, and holidays

Responsibilities

- Prepare and serve alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks according to standard recipes
- Welcome guests, take drink and food orders, and provide friendly, efficient service
- Operate POS systems, handle cash and card payments, and issue receipts accurately
- Check customer identification and enforce age and alcohol service laws
- Maintain a clean, organized, and well-stocked bar (glassware, garnishes, spirits, kegs, etc.)
- Follow opening, closing, and cleaning procedures for the bar area and equipment
- Monitor guest behavior and alcohol consumption; refuse service when necessary
- Recommend drinks, upsell products, and promote daily specials or signature cocktails
- Collaborate with servers, and kitchen staff to ensure smooth service
- Adhere to health, safety, and hygiene standards at all times




- Handle guest complaints or issues calmly and professionally, escalating when needed

Requirements Minimum age 19 (alcohol service in BC)

Valid Serving It Right certification

At least 1 year Bartending experience in Canada or extensive experience elsewhere..

Cocktail, beer and wine knowledge, Italian cuisine familiarity, and high-volume service experience are all assets

Fluent English; additional languages are an asset

Must be legally entitled to work in Canada
