The Ontario Jewish Archives is seeking a full-time Archivist with a start date in July 2025. Lead efforts in collections management and public service initiatives while working in a flexible hybrid schedule. This role at the Ontario Jewish Archives, a vital part of the UJA Federation, focuses on preserving Jewish Canadian history and records.
Ideal candidates will manage collections, respond to references, and engage in community outreach and programming. Your contributions will ensure that Ontario's Jewish history is documented and shared effectively. Key Responsibilities:
- Appraise and acquire archival records from donors
- Organize and describe collections following skilled standards
- Digitize various media and maintain OJA's digital holdings
- Deliver reference assistance to the public and staff
- Support social media and outreach programming efforts Requirements:
- Master of Information with an archives specialization
- At least 1-year experience in an archival setting
- Strong understanding of preservation and archival standards
- Ability to conduct historical research and communicate effectively
