Who we are: Oak Bridge Academy is an alternative school structured around the principles of Applied Behaviour Analysis (ABA) designed specifically for children with neurodevelopmental disorders. ABA focuses on the principles that explain how learning takes place, and is a scientifically validated approach to understanding behaviour and how our behaviour is affected by the environment. The core principles of behavioural science used at Oak Bridge Academy include contingency management, goal setting, self-control, mindfulness, and Acceptance and Commitment Training (ACT).

Each of these principles, when used in combination, will contribute to developing a resilient and versatile student.

Primary Role:

Seeking a Full Time Behaviour Therapist (BT). A Behaviour Therapist (BT) at Oak Bridge Academy plays a central role in supporting students’ educational, emotional, social development, and behavioral programs within the classroom setting. Working under the guidance of teachers and the Clinical Coordinator (CC), BTs assist with the preparation, planning, and implementation of curriculum, including individualized programming that targets academic, behavioural, and social goals.

BTs are expected to demonstrate strong proficiency in data collection and ongoing data and documentation monitoring to inform decision-making and ensure program effectiveness. They implement Applied Behaviour Analysis (ABA) and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) strategies with a high degree of independence, maintaining fidelity to established programs and interventions. In collaboration with the Rotational Lead Behaviour Therapist and Clinical Coordinator (CC), BTs contribute to the development and consistent implementation of behaviour support and safety plans, ensuring a structured, safe, and supportive learning environment for all students.

A Behaviour Therapist consistently demonstrates advanced ABA and ACT skills, takes initiative beyond the expectations of their role, and serves as a positive influence within the team.



The BTs typically have significant experience and are recognized as subject matter experts. They will work closely with Junior Behaviour Therapists to mentor and support their colleagues, this role is focused on individual contribution and expertise rather than direct staff supervision.

Primary Responsibilities

- Responsible for maintaining accurate and up to date data in alignment with program and documentation requirements.
- Collaborate with the Rotational LBT and Clinical Coordinator (CC) to maintain program quality and behavioural integrity.
- Maintain open, professional communication with all team members.
- Maintains appropriate supervision of students across all settings, including classrooms, hallways, play and lunch areas, rest periods, and during recreational activities/ community outings.
- Model best practices in ABA, ACT, and crisis intervention strategies in both contrived and natural settings.
- Assist with the development and consistent implementation of behaviour service plans, individualized education plans, and behaviour safety plans.
- Participate in professional development aligned with the company’s mission.
- Develop instructional materials and visual supports aligned with ABA principles (e.g., task analyses, schedules, and other antecedent-based teaching tools to support skill acquisition and independence).
