Their Ottawa office is seeking a Bilingual Legal Assistant to join a highly respected Labour, Employment & Human Rights practice.

Your New Role
As a Bilingual Legal Assistant, you will provide administrative and legal support to a group of Partners and Associates within the Labour, Employment & Human Rights practice, while also assisting with litigation matters.
Responsibilities will include
- Managing calendars, meetings, deadlines, and correspondence
- Preparing, formatting, and proofreading legal documents in both English and French
- Assisting with court and tribunal filings
- Coordinating and maintaining electronic and physical file records
- Communicating with clients, opposing counsel, courts, and administrative tribunals
- Supporting lawyers with litigation matters from file opening through to closing
- Assisting with document production, records management, and organization of case materials
- Providing substantive support with drafting and file management where required
The role offers approximately a 50/50 split between Labour, Employment & Human Rights and Litigation,
providing excellent exposure to multiple practice areas while working closely with a well-established team of lawyers. What You'll Need to Succeed To be considered for this opportunity, you will possess:
- A minimum of 2 years of experience as a Legal Assistant within a law firm environment
- Strong bilingual communication skills in both English and French (written and verbal)
- Experience supporting litigation practices
- Labour & Employment or Human Rights experience is considered a strong asset
- Excellent organizational and time-management skills
- Strong attention to detail and proofreading abilities in both official languages
- The ability to manage competing priorities and deadlines in a rapid-paced environment
- A professional and client-focused approach
Candidates should be comfortable working in both languages, as the interview process will include a French-language assessment and written exercise. What You'll Get in Return In exchange for your skills and experience, you will receive:
