Garage Living Vancouver is a growing, family-owned business transforming garages into premium, finished spaces across the Lower Mainland. We’re looking for an experienced Bookkeeper & Payroll Administrator to take ownership of our day-to-day bookkeeping, payroll, reporting, and financial administration.
This is an important role within our small, close-knit team. You’ll work directly with management and provide the accurate, timely financial information needed to understand performance, manage cash flow, monitor profitability, and make informed business decisions.
This role is best suited to someone who is highly organized, detail-oriented, comfortable working independently, and takes ownership of getting things right.
Must live in Greater Vancouver or the Tri-Cities area

What You'll OwnBookkeeping & Accounting
- Manage day-to-day bookkeeping and accounting activities
- Process customer invoicing and accounts receivable collections
- Post vendor invoices, payments, and expenses
- Manage and reconcile Visa and debit accounts
- Manage vendor postings and account records
- Monitor cash flow and A/R
- Prepare and file monthly PST and quarterly GST reports
- Conduct quarterly balance sheet reviews
- Support the external accountant as required
- Complete fiscal year-end close and related reporting
Month-End & Financial Reporting Prepare and distribute accurate monthly management reports, including:
- Sales by Customer
- Profit & Loss statements
- Accounts Receivable and Accounts Payable reports
- Balance Sheet
- KPI reporting
- Monthly inventory reporting and management
- Review inventory levels, movements, and discrepancies
- Identify inventory issues that may affect cash flow, profitability, or project readiness
Accuracy, consistency, and timeliness are essential.
Management relies on these reports to understand how the business is performing. Payroll, Commissions & Compliance
- Process bi-weekly payroll
- Calculate and process monthly sales commissions
- Review and maintain timesheet documentation and efficiency reporting
- Prepare and submit quarterly and annual WorkSafe reports
- Prepare and file the annual EHT report
- Maintain accurate payroll and employee records
Year-End
- Complete fiscal year-end close and supporting documentation
- Increase weekly hours by approximately 3–4 hours for about one month during year-end
- Work with our external accountant and respond to information requests as needed
What We're Looking For: You’re someone who knows your numbers, catches the details, and doesn't need to be chased.
You bring
- 3+ years of bookkeeping experience
- 3+ years of QuickBooks Online experience
- 3+ years of payroll experience
- Strong A/R and A/P experience
- Strong understanding of cash flow
- Experience preparing GST, PST, payroll, and other statutory filings
- Experience preparing month-end financial reports
- Solid attention to detail and accuracy
- Excellent organization and documentation skills
- Ability to manage recurring deadlines independently
- Confidence working with management and communicating financial information clearly
- Experience with inventory tracking and reconciliation is an asset
- Dayforce experience is an asset
- Accounting, payroll, or finance certification/diploma is an asset

Important This is not a remote position. You must be able to reliably commute to our Port Coquitlam office.
