Avia Bakery & Café is a growing Ottawa-based bakery specializing in fresh, clean-label and halal breads, baked goods, café meals and wholesale products. We serve individual customers, businesses, restaurants and grocery stores throughout Ottawa and Gatineau.

We are looking for an experienced, reliable and highly organized Bookkeeper to maintain accurate financial records and help management understand the financial performance of the business.

Key Responsibilities

- Record and categorize daily financial transactions
- Maintain accurate accounts payable and accounts receivable records
- Prepare and send customer invoices
- Monitor outstanding invoices and follow up on overdue accounts
- Reconcile bank accounts, credit cards, Square/POS transactions and delivery-platform payments
- Record wholesale, retail, catering and online sales accurately
- Process payroll and maintain employee payroll records
- Prepare HST information and assist with government remittances
- Maintain WSIB and other required financial records
- Track expenses, supplier payments and inventory-related purchases
- Prepare monthly profit-and-loss statements, balance sheets and cash-flow reports
- Assist with budgeting, cost control and product profitability analysis
- Organize financial documents for the external accountant and year-end corporate tax filing
- Identify discrepancies and recommend improvements to bookkeeping procedures
- Maintain strict confidentiality regarding company and employee information

Qualifications
- At least two years of bookkeeping experience, preferably in a bakery,



restaurant, retail, manufacturing or food-service business
- Strong knowledge of QuickBooks Online
- Experience with payroll, HST, bank reconciliation, accounts payable and accounts receivable
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel or Google Sheets
- Robust attention to detail and excellent organizational skills
- Ability to work independently and meet deadlines
- Clear written and verbal communication skills
- Knowledge of Canadian and Ontario bookkeeping requirements
- Accounting or bookkeeping diploma, certificate or equivalent experience is preferred
- Experience with Square POS, inventory systems or food-cost tracking is an asset
