About Aslan’s Den

Aslan’s Den is an independent bookstore located inside Gasoline Alley Farmers’ Market. We offer a thoughtfully selected collection of books and aim to create a warm, welcoming setting where customers feel seen, encouraged, and supported.

Our bookstore is about more than selling books. It is often a place of ministry—an opportunity to listen, encourage others, discuss faith, and recommend the right book at the right time.

About the Position

We are looking for a friendly, dependable, and self-motivated person to join our team. The successful candidate will enjoy working with people, love books, and be willing to learn about the titles and products we carry.

This is a part-time position with variable hours. Applicants must be available to work Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays as scheduled.

Responsibilities

- Welcome customers and provide friendly, attentive service
- Help customers find books and offer thoughtful recommendations
- Learn about our books, products, authors, and store values
- Process purchases and operate the point-of-sale system
- Keep shelves, displays,



and the sales area tidy and organized
- Restock books and assist with displays
- Answer customer questions in person and by phone
- Assist with special orders when needed
- Help create a welcoming environment for every customer
- Be comfortable listening to, encouraging, and speaking with customers about faith when appropriate
- Complete opening, closing, and other general bookstore duties as assigned

Qualifications
- Warm, approachable, and people-oriented
- Strong customer-service and communication skills
- Dependable, punctual, and trustworthy
- Self-motivated and able to work independently
- Flexible and willing to help wherever needed
- Interested in books and eager to learn about our inventory
- Comfortable with the Christian identity and ministry aspect of Aslan’s Den
- Retail or customer-service experience is an asset, but we are willing to train the right person
- Must be available for shifts Friday through Sunday
