Overview The Property Maintenance Associate is an entry-level, hands-on position responsible for supporting building operations across The Focal Point Group’s commercial real estate portfolio. This role will assist senior building managers with physical maintenance tasks, oversee basic upkeep and contractor access at select sites, and provide responsive coverage for urgent issues or staff absences.

Key ResponsibilitiesMaintenance Support

- Assist Building Managers as needed with tasks requiring physical labor such as:
- Ladder work, lifting, minor repairs, signage installation, and general upkeep
- Perform basic handyman tasks (patching, painting, minor repairs, etc.)
- Conduct routine inspections and report maintenance issues or safety concerns
- Assist in codifying property maintenance checklists and calendars.

Site Oversight

- Oversee scheduled contractor visits and minor maintenance at:
- London, Stratford, St. Thomas and Sarnia properties
- Coordinate vendor access and ensure work is completed to standard
- Ensure cleanliness and functionality of mechanical rooms, common areas, and exterior grounds





Coverage & On-Call Support

- Provide sick day or vacation coverage for Building Managers
- Respond to facility-related emergencies or after-hours calls

Requirements

- Robust work ethic and willingness to learn
- Hands-on, reliable, and comfortable with physical tasks
- General knowledge of tools and basic repairs
- Clear, timely communication skills and ability to interact with tenants and vendors
- Valid Ontario driver’s license and access to a reliable vehicle
- Ability to work independently and manage time effectively
- Capable in use of Word and Excel

Assets (Not Required)

- Previous experience in property maintenance, construction, or a skilled trade
- Basic understanding of building systems (HVAC, plumbing, etc.)

Compensation & Benefits

- 20-40 hours per week
- Competitive hourly wage (based on experience)
- Mileage reimbursement

Pay: $22.00-$26.00 per hour Expected hours: 40.0 per week
