BUSINESS ANALYST

Turf Masters is a diversified, growing company specializing in sports field and site developments, large-scale landscape and commercial excavation projects throughout Atlantic Canada.

Granview Farms is a third-generation sod farming business with farms in Elderbank and Amherst, Nova Scotia and Maugerville, New Brunswick.

The companies are currently seeking a motivated and qualified individual to fill the role of Business Manager. In this fast paced, full-time role you will be working directly with the President, Senior Director of Finance, General Manager and other members of the senior management team performing costing analysis, and various administrative, and sales tasks.

Main Job Duties

Business & Operations Management

- Oversee daily business workflows, optimize procedures, and ensure proper allocation of staff and resources.
- Strategy & Growth: Identify current market opportunities, analyze business metrics, and help execute long-term company goals.

· Communication and IT management, office and field. · Project set up, facilities management and materials procurement.

· Licensing, insurance and permit acquisition, renewal and update.

· Safety and policy compliance and manual development support.

Financial & Sales Management

- Develop budgets, monitor financial performance, and track revenue and expenses.
- Provide costing analysis for the sod farms.




- Perform financial analysis and projections.
- Project/Sales tracking, P&L; analysis including spreadsheet reporting development and job costing.
- Tender/RFP development support.
- Support with formal financial statement preparation.
- Support with project closeout and invoicing, working closely with the project management team.

Experience and Abilities:

- A minimum of 5 years’ experience in similar management duties with accounting background.
- Experience and familiarity with construction/contracting industry or similar business management.
- A basic knowledge of the tendering and construction procurement processes.
- Excellent IT skills including accounting software and office suite programs.
- Comfortable working in a busy office environment.
- HR skills and familiarity with payroll processes.
- A keen willingness to lead and work in a team environment.

Education:

- Post secondary degree or certificate for accounting or business management.
- Technical diploma in industry related fields is considered an asset.
- IT and computer program training or accreditation.
