About the Opportunity

AfterQuery is seeking experienced BI and Data Visualization Experts to author and evaluate expert-level dashboard and reporting scenarios used in AI training and evaluation. Contributors will create realistic business intelligence workflows that assess how AI models work with data models, dashboards, metrics, and visualization decisions.

The role combines hands-on BI expertise with analytical evaluation. You will develop realistic scenarios, create reference answers explaining the reasoning behind visualization and metric decisions, and evaluate AI-generated dashboards for analytical accuracy, data integrity, and clarity.

Responsibilities

- Author realistic BI scenarios spanning data modeling, dashboard development, reporting, and rollout.
- Develop reference answers that clearly explain the visualization, metric, and analytical reasoning behind each decision.
- Grade AI-generated outputs for analytical accuracy, dashboard quality, and chart integrity.
- Identify dashboards that appear polished but may mislead users through inappropriate visualizations, metrics, or analytical interpretations.
- Validate the underlying data and SQL logic used to support dashboard outputs.
- Apply practical BI and data visualization expertise when evaluating AI-generated work.
- Document analytical reasoning clearly and consistently.
- Contribute to ongoing evaluation and training datasets for frontier AI systems.

Required Qualifications

- 2+ years of qualified experience in business intelligence,



data analytics, or a closely related field.
- Hands-on expertise with at least one major BI or data visualization platform, such as:
- Tableau
- Power BI
- Looker
- Strong SQL skills for building, querying, and validating the data behind dashboards.
- Strong understanding of data visualization principles, metrics, reporting, and analytical workflows.
- Clear written English and ability to document analytical reasoning effectively.
- Strong attention to detail when evaluating data accuracy and visualization integrity.
- Ability to commit to a minimum of 10 hours per week.

Preferred Qualifications

- BI or analytics certifications, such as Tableau Desktop Specialist or Microsoft PL-300.
- Experience with semantic layers or data modeling tools such as LookML or dbt.
- Experience developing executive or stakeholder-facing reports and dashboards.
- Experience translating complex analytical findings into clear visual reporting.
- Experience evaluating or reviewing dashboards for business decision-making.

Compensation & Engagement

- Compensation: $50–$90/hour
- Payment Schedule: Weekly via Stripe
- Engagement Type: Independent contractor
- Work Arrangement: Fully remote and asynchronous
- Hours: Minimum 10 hours per week; no maximum
- Schedule: No fixed working hours; contributors can scale their hours up or down week to week
- Project Type: Ongoing project work rather than single-task batches
- Monitoring: No screen recording, keystroke monitoring, or idle timers
- Compensation rate is determined based on relevant experience.
