Job Overview

We are seeking a motivated and skilled Carpenter to join our dynamic construction team. In this role, you will be responsible for constructing, installing, repairing, and maintaining structures and fixtures using a variety of hand and power tools. Your expertise will contribute to building high-quality projects that meet safety standards and client specifications.

Duties

- Prepare layouts in conformance to building codes, using measuring tools
- Measure, cut, shape, assemble and join materials made of wood, wood substitutes, lightweight steel and other materials
- Build foundations, install floor beams, lay subflooring and erect walls and roof systems
- Fit and install windows, doors, stairs, mouldings and hardware
- Instruct apprentices
- Maintain, repair and renovate residences and wooden structures in mills, mines, hospitals, industrial plants and other establishments.

Skills





- Proficiency in blueprint reading, schematics interpretation, and woodworking techniques
- Experience with concrete forming, finishing, and drywall installation
- Skilled in siding installation and restoration projects
- Ability to operate hand tools, power tools, heavy equipment, and welding equipment when necessary
- Strong understanding of construction safety protocols and best practices
- Excellent problem-solving skills with attention to detail in measuring and cutting materials accurately
- Physical stamina for heavy lifting, prolonged standing, bending, and working at heights when required
