Overview

Placentia Welcome Centre Inc. has received Community Enhancement Employment Program (CEEP) funding and is seeking workers.

We require two - six worker(s) to: Repair the exterior and interior of the former Sacred Heart Church in Placentia.

The expected project start date is: October 19, 2026

· These positions pay minimum wage. Also seeking a foreman who will receive $2.00 per hour above minimum wage. Must be a skilled carpenter.

· Individuals must be currently unemployed to be eligible to work on the project (NOTE: part time, casual, and call-in applicants are not eligible)

· Individuals must provide all previous Record(s) of Employment within the last 12 months.

· Individuals can be employed for up to 470 hours (subject to change as per Service Canada).

· Individuals who require more than 470 hours of project employment to obtain EI benefits are not eligible to participate.

· Individuals may qualify for EI by the end of the project.

Duties

- Perform concrete forming, rebar installation, and masonry work to support foundational structures
- Install drywall,



siding, and roofing components with precision and attention to detail
- Operate hand tools, power tools, other construction equipment safely and efficiently
- Conduct restoration work including painting, caulking, siding repairs, and general handyman task

Requirements

- Proven construction experience with a strong understanding of carpentry and woodworking principles
- Familiarity with construction estimating processes and project documentation
- Skilled in the use of hand tools, power tools,
- Experience in roofing, siding installation, flooring setup,
- Ability to perform heavy lifting safely and work effectively in physically demanding environments
- Valid safety certifications or willingness to obtain required safety training prior to commencement
