About the Role

Our client is seeking a sharp and strategic Category Buyer to manage procurement for key product categories within the FMCG sector in Kimberley . This role is pivotal in ensuring the cost-effective and timely sourcing of high-quality products that meet consumer demand and company standards. You will be responsible for supplier negotiation, relationship management, and driving category performance through intelligent purchasing decisions.

Key Responsibilities

- Develop and execute sourcing strategies for assigned FMCG product categories to ensure competitive pricing and quality.

- Negotiate with suppliers to achieve optimal terms, pricing, and delivery schedules.

- Analyze market trends, commodity prices, and supplier performance to identify cost-saving opportunities.

- Manage supplier relationships, ensuring adherence to contracts and quality standards.

- Collaborate with internal stakeholders, including category managers and operations,



to meet product requirements and demand forecasts.

- Monitor inventory levels and implement strategies to minimize stockouts and excess inventory.

Requirements

- Minimum of 4 years of experience in procurement or purchasing, specifically within the FMCG industry.

- Proven track record of successful supplier negotiation and cost reduction.

- Solid understanding of supply chain dynamics and market trends affecting FMCG products.

- Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business, Economics, or a related field.

- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.

- Proficiency in procurement software and Microsoft Office Suite.
