As a Certified Archaeologist, your day-to-day responsibilities will include:

- Initiate, manage, and lead archaeological assessments for forestry, mine, oil and gas facility and pipeline projects
- Major focus is leadership of technical quality or project management for larger, more complex projects
- Prepare and review proposals,



including scopes of work and cost estimates, and technical reports for archaeological projects
- Demonstrate an understanding of business risks, budgets, and project profits, and share post-project reviews of estimates vs. actual costs to Senior Management
- Provide business development and networking opportunities within oil & gas, mining, and energy industries
- Secure new client acquisition, follow through on new business opportunities, and ensure client satisfaction
- Build and maintain positive client relationships focused on providing top-quality service
- Main point of contact for external clients regarding project deliverables, concerns, managing client expectations
- Maintain understanding of applicable heritage resources regulations, guidelines, and associated industry practices within BC
- Consult with the Archaeology Branch and/or BC Energy Regulator, and interact with regulators on behalf of clients
- Consult with Management Team for planning, goals, and strategic growth throughout western Canada
- Involved in hiring, performance reviews, performance management, and training decisions
- Provide specialized knowledge and direction to employees on complex technical issues
- Undertake assignments that may involve travel and periods of time away from home office

We are looking for the following skills and qualifications:

- Bachelor or Graduate Degree in Archaeology or Anthropology
- 5+ years of relevant archaeological experience




- Member of the BCAPA (preferred)
- Certified Archaeologist status (NEBC) with the BC Archaeology Branch, or eligible to apply
- Proficient computer skills with Microsoft Office
- Current Safety Tickets (i.e., First Aid, H2S) preferred
- Valid Class 5 Driver’s License
- Consistent leadership and independence in scheduling, prioritization, and completion of work tasks
- Understands project management processes and willing to adhere to them
- Recognized as role model/mentor, motivates and encourages junior and intermediate staff to achieve results
- Strong commitment to health and safety leadership; embraces concept of leading and promoting good HSE culture
- Working knowledge of the oil and gas industry in NEBC (preferred)
- Well-versed in pertinent provincial heritage legislation
- Superior attention to detail and ability to produce professional deliverables on time and on budget
- Ability to make decisions with consideration of appropriate inputs
- Experience with working on large work programs with multiple team members
- Exceptional verbal and written communication skills, technical report writing skills, and project management skills
- Good problem solver, able to frame and communicate complex issues into simple tasks
- Willing to travel and work away from home periodically
- Physically fit, comfortable in an outdoor setting, and able to adapt to various weather conditions (preferred)
